strong words. interestingly, i cannot see the word of "god" anyhere in your descartes quote. to my knowledge, philosophy has since moved away from concepts such as "absolute" or "objective" truths. your "proof" proves nothing. even if there is a truth independent of the human mind, what does "god" have to do with it? to simply say: "we are, therefore god exists" would be just one more example of a logical fallacy, like there have been so many before. and the Gospels were written within the living memory of Jesus. Living memory is that time extending to when everyone who has known people who knew of a person or even have died actually, the gospel of john was written 90-120AD. the bible canon was assembled in the 4th century AD (council of nicea, 325AD). Please also see my earlier posts. That's what I said. 90-120AD is still within living memory.
Nope. The Bible does not reference itself. There is no way it could... The Bible is compiled of several books written in several different time periods and by several different writers. This is why some folks reference the Bible as an alternate source to itself. If there were a battle, and we knew about the battle because of the journal of a soldier and the journal of a general, we would not say it's false just because these two journals appeared in a later book together. this book (the Bible) was written around 500-600 ad.600 years or so after this man purportedly lived. This part is wrong also. The Old Testament Scripture was written before the birth of Christ and the Gospels were written within the living memory of Jesus. Living memory is that time extending to when everyone who has known people who knew of a person or even have died. The years you are thinking of are actually when the Bible was compi
>>as A sidenote. for all you religious . please go to your library and look for books written by historians whom lived at the time of jesus christ and you will find not one mention of the man. . only in the bible does it mention a man names jesus christ. this book was written around 500-600 ad.600 years or so after this man purportedly lived. Ooooo, so sorry. You're completely wrong there. Look up a fellow named Josephus, who was a paganized Jew living at the time of Christ.
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart Thats a good one! I'm not sure about many network news, most are really bias *cough*Fox news*cough*, I watch mostly cnn, although they seem to swing quite far to left sometimes. Of course Jon Stewart is a comedian. I actually think Fox News is quite balanced in their reporting. O'Reilly and Hannity and Combs are fine shows, but their not passed off as news...rather
It's still open. I was hoping there might be an easy fix out here, since I know they're swamped. If I registered under a third email, it boggles my mind what it could be. The other two made sense...but I tend to keep the same email for a long time. I've tried every email I could think of. Ah well, guess it's back to the Oblivion expansion for a while. : ) <img src="http://images.stardock.com
George Bush?? I am fairly certain Osama bin ladan would kill me without hesitation if I was in the same room as him, where as George Busch won't. Pretty sure on that one. Well, I feel sorry for you if you're in a room with 'ole Georgy boy. At least if Osama kills you it should be fairly quick. Bush would just drone on and on until your brain would ooze out of your ears, a slow and painful death, like a cockroach after a Raid
Here's something odd too. When I click "My Account"-->"Registrations" I see GalCiv I, and GalCiv II Dark Avatar. However, the serial number for DA keeps changing everytime I go there and look at it again. The serial number for GalCiv I always stays the same. Earlier today I only saw GalCiv I until the fellow at tech support merged two of my accounts. That's when I started seeing the expansion in the list...but GalCiv II is still not there. I definitely have a legal, store-bought copy...I e
I'm having a problem where stardock won't recognize my previously registered Galactic Civilizations II serial despite two of my accounts being merged earlier today. Since Stardock thinks my serial is invalid, I can't download Dark Avatar.
I'm impressed at how well this conversation has progressed. I'll point out that when we say "atheism is a religion" it's generally in response to one who has claimed that title and is acting irrationally. Otherwise, it's not really an issue. As an example, there was a fellow I worked with who got mad at me for not working on a particular Sunday morning. He asked why and I told him that I did not work on Sundays for religious reasons. Now, realize that he was in his forties a
