You did install the Multimedia Pack, right? Not sure what you mean about boiler plate reports. If you have a specific crash to report, get debug.err and the CRA file from Smart Exception. Send or post these two files along with any information about what you were doing at the time that might be helpful. (If you're not running Smart Exception before GC2 already, do so! Link )</fo

and my birthday. Happy Birthday. Did anyone else remember how in Commander Keen IV you could play
I like the idea of stargates. Maybe that could be another type of starbase.
I find that the survey ship in these games is finding lots of Sensor Drones and I find these almost impossible to see and thus locate if I don't have some idea of where to look for them. Have you tried zooming out to the strategic map? I don't actually know if that makes the sensor drones any clearer but it's worth a
I was going to make a post, but then I read Spazzle's. And, yes, I am still posting, it's just I don't have anything to add.
It's already possible to wipe all your opponents out. Not having done this yet, I don't know if any sort of victory announcement or screen is in yet or if the game just keeps going. However, what Nastavnik said. We're unfortunately not at the point of Fun Betas yet.
3) I built a colony ship - or at least I tried to. It said that it should have only taken one week but it never built anything. On the main map screen where it says what is being built at a planet, it said colony ship but had a long number like 45688912 beside it - not sure what it meant but I thought maybe that was the true number of weeks and
1) No Sound. Should there be? I'm not sure as this is Beta Test Have you downloaded the multimedia pack from SD Central? There should be two music tracks (one for the main menu, one for the game) and sound effects if you have <TD class="mb-Body-

What are your system specs, if you don't mind me being nosey? This is a beta test forum, I don't see how that's nosy. Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158) AMD Duron(tm)
I've seen this phenomenon before, and now I've got a screenshot and a save. Occassionally, a planet will be completely black on the map. It may have a bit of atmosphere or ring or whatever showing, but where the terrain should be visible it's simply all black. Here's a screenshot: Link This planet is a habitable one (class 13 or so) I also have a save, though good
Almost immediately after starting a new game, I went back to the main menu and tried to start a new game again. I got a buffer overflow. Smart Exception didn't seem to catch anything, but here's the debug.err Debug Message: Version last updated on: Wed Mar 23 15:05:39 2005 Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.********* System Info Time: 3/26/2005, 21:53:17 DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Machine Name: BEN<
I downloaded the latest nvidia drivers as Solitair suggested and now the ships are fine.
That sounds good to me. It might be a little confusing for the player if the bling pods look like real pods - "Why can't I create a six-pod ship like I'm given at the start of the game?" - but making the bling pods noticably different, by size or some other thing, could help with that.
Even if there's no textures it should definatly be showing the player's colors (grey and blue). Could you find another race in the galaxy and see if their ships are colored? I should have specified: every ship in the game, regardless of owner, has this problem.
Yeah, I updated the drivers recently. I'm not sure what's up. It's strange that it's limited to the ships... what's the difference in rendering between the ships and the rest of the map's objects?
I did enable anti-aliasing since I remembered that the auto-detection for it is broken. However, turning it on or off doesn't seem to have an effect. Some images of the problem, one of the main map and one of the star port: Link Link Specs for my PC: DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0
I remember reading that the textures had been taken out... is that why my ships are all white? Mine have no color at all.
nths? Phase 2 is in May. There's a list of the phases here: Link
I don't see it listed... I have "show pre-release versions" checked in SD Central, and I tried refreshing. Is it somewhere besides the games menu?
d hardly play any Multiplayer if it weren't for PBEM.
