I agree with 2K here. It doesn't look like it will be a game that traditional Civ players on the PC would want to play really. I think the use of the 'Civ' name is for brand recognition, it's not like the old Civ games at all.

I cant believe this thread is still going. Somebody lock it and stop the idiot who posted it from embarrassing himself any more.
This is probably a simple question, but I'd appreciate it if somebody enlightened me anyway =) Does the number of research points for a certain tech change depending on the size of map you play? For example, imagine that on a tiny map you have to create 100 RP for Laser III, does that mean on a gigantic map you have to pay something like 800 RP, or something? This is all assuming you've not adjusted the 'Research Speed option' The reason I ask is because on the biggest maps yo
Piracy is caused by a potential buyer realizing that it is relatively safe to download something illegally.
The thing is though that people *can* copy games easily and without fear. DRM doesn't make it any more difficult for the pirate, as he can just find a crack or whatever. I think it would be pretty hard to police P2P too; if it was easy then I expect they would already be doing it. Because of that, the publishers need to provide an incentive for people *not
I agree with him. I think the PC games industry is going to have to go down this road in future. However, I'm not sure I can forgive Titled Mill for 'SimCity Societies'. Oh man, what did they do to SimCity! Butchers! I hope that's not what he means by 'Originality'. He missed a couple of things though: MMOs. Love them or hate them, they're suited to a PC better than a console. They're a money spinner too, what with these 'Micro-Transactions' (buying stuff in-game), sub

Deinumite has the right idea (reply #4). OP, you wont see a huge performance boost in games swopping to an x64 version of Windows, unless that game is specifically designed to take advantage of a 64bit system. I'm not aware of any games that do. I don't that you'll notice any difference in performance being able to use 4gigs of RAM rather than 3.5gigs, at least not with current games. Maybe a few years down the line, you would. Driver support for Vista x64 is actually
If publishers want to stop piracy then they've got to address the things that cause it, rather than trying to stem the tide via DRM. The issues are: 1) Poor quality games, meaning stopping the 'cookie cutter' approach to game design. 2) Poor quality support, buggy code, unfinshed products. 3) Lack of communication between developers and end users. 4) Overcharging for games outside of the US. There are tons of publishers (I mostly notice the ones that
