I had this same problem myself earlier today. What I did was to exit Stardock Central, reload it, it then brings up the little update window, and from there I selected to update the game and it then downloaded the patch for Dark Avatar correctly. Hope this helps!

Ok, I've sent the info, let me know if you have any other questions. And thanks for the help!
I have a reproducible CTD every time any of my starships enters a specific area around a number of newly discovered star systems. This CTD occurs when any ship of mine, manually moved, or via autopilot, enters the area around several different stars in my current game. I have had this particular CTD in each game I have played thus far of GalCiv 2. It has also occured in each version of the game, from the launch day right up until the current 1.0X.010. I have been combing the boards and have
I wanted to add my own thanks as well. The entire Stardock team has been amazing throughout the entire launch process and all of your hardwork is greatly appreciated! It makes me feel better to have bought a game from a small, dedicated, and seemingly tireless publisher such as Stardock, than give my money to a huge corporate machine. So thanks for all the hard work!
+ NOTE: Your ship designs from 1.0D1 and before will NOT show up in this version. We have updated this version so that the ships contain their own unique version ID so that when we do FUTURE updates, your ships will still work. But we didn't implement this until now (now that we have seen the sophisticated ship designs people are creating). So we apologize in advance for that, but it shouldn't be a problem going forward. Does this mean we will lose our designs and have to recre
When playing I only ever hear one piece of music in my campaigns. I hear the event music properly, but whenever I am playing I hear the same piece of music repeated endlessly. I believe it is the Exploration mp3. It loops constantly. I have tried adjusting the audio volume sliders and turning the event and background music on and off, but whenever background music is playing it is always that one same song. If anyone know why this might be happening please let me know. <img src="smiles

This exact thing happens to me every time I load a game as well. I get ship movement but no production or tech research until essentially two turns have occurred. Perhaps this is a known issue, I'm not sure. I'm also not sure if the AI is getting to move their units as well, or if they are getting full turns, or if every time I load a game I essentially get a turn of "bonus" movement for my ships and the AI cannot move. Not a horribly crushing bug but it makes the infrequent CTDs more annoy
I just called two local Best Buy stores (in Phoenix, AZ) and found that both of them have copies of GalCiv 2 on-hand but that they won't sell them until tomorrow because they have a street date for GalCiv 2 of 2/23/06. Just thought I'd let everyone know.
