Had it happen to me once early on in a game and had to sit there and research my way up the tech tree to a point i could throw together a ship that could stand up to them. Needs to be at least a large hull with plenty of defense and a good amount of offense to boot. Miniaturization is the key to beating them once they appear. That and plenty of money to buy the ships once you have them researched. The orbital command structure is handy too as then all ships around your planet act as one fleet

OK will do. So far seems to be running well with no major problems. Took a bit of getting used to playing it a different way from the way i have always played it but now am enjoying the mod. Finding that most of the AI's i am up against are all colonizing well.

Another great host for your images is Minus (http://min.us/) Their interface is stupidly easy to use.. Just drag and drop an image from your pc onto the website and it automatically uploads and gives you the links. No finding the file first just drag and drop.

Marvinkosh i have installed and am trying out the mod and like what i see. However i have one slight 'bug' and one question for you. Bug: - Techs that are available to research are not all showing in the left hand window. So far the issue seems to be with the 'Core Technologies' you have implimented. Question: - Factories? With the excl

[quote who="MarvinKosh" reply="75" id="2936174"]Get a copy of the Dread Lords tech tree in the game's Twilight folder, put it in a mod folder or backup your original. Use the Tech Tree Editor (it's in the tools folder of Twilight) and open up the Dread Lords tech tree where you have it stashed. Find each of the basic colonisation techs for extreme worlds, and in the Research Cost box, just delete that value completely. Then hit Apply to Selected Tech. Repeat for

Any imaging software can do this for you. The easiest one i have found to use is Irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/ Simply open an image in that and press 's' to save-as and select the format you wish to save in. If you are looking for a logo that has a transparent background you should try a more intensive program such as paint.net http://www.paint.ne

Go to your my documents/my games/GC2 folder and delete your prefs.ini and any .raceconfig files there. Restart the game and reset your preferences and the stock races should have returned for you. There are other ways to reset the default races but this is the one that always works for me. Hope that helps you out

Tolmekian i have to say that this mod is the only reason i am playing the game now. Kudos to you and i hope to see a new upgrade in the weeks to come.. I have just finished modding the planetary bonus symbols into ones that make a bit more sense and are easier to see/understand. New ones are green for the +100 and red for the +300. May release it as a mini-mod later on but was primarily done just to make it easier to see at a glance what tile improvements are what.

Which version of GCII are you running? There was a problem with the ultimate edition calling for various files from the wrong place. Could you please post your debug.err here (in my documents/my games/ GCII) so we can take a look and see if it is something that you can fix.

Debug Message: D3DERR_DEVICELOST This is caused by the Direct-X crashing and not being able to run. You can try one of the following steps to resolve this. :- 1. Set your game resolution to the same as your current resolution (if you cant get into the game then modify the 'prefs.ini' file in your documents/games/gc2 folder). 2. If above does not work then you may need to reinstall your current Direct-x

Or one other alternative is to use a hosting site such as FileFactory ( http://www.filefactory.com ) where you can upload up to 50 files of any type, up to 2000MB each. I uploaded the Ultimate Sci-fi mod there for some users to d/l and have had no issues with it at all.

Only way i have seen this done to any degree was to change the planet texture for your homeworld to that of the deathstar. Then it kinda looks like you have a functioning base to dock your ships in. However i have never seen any other way to do an actual ship that you can dock with. That goes back to the 'carrier' wish that many of us had but was never implemented by stardock.
