I wonder how much of the game itself will runs on the server? Did Frogboy post something like this might eventually happen where some or most of the game will run on a server? If that's true it may make it a little harder to pirate the game.

While the game is good I wished CA and Stardock would get together. While the AI has some improvements over the other TW series it still need some serious work. For example it seems you can pretty leave England totally defenseless without worrying about an attack from the AI.
Thanks to everybody who responded to this post I have decided to go with HoMM3 which over here in England comes boxed with the expansions and HoMM4 and expansions for only £5! Now all i have to do is wait for it to arrive
Don't forget to download the HOMM 3: "the Wake of Gods" mod (homm 3.5) which adds a lot to the game. There is also a fan mod "Equillbris" (not as good as WoG

Developers are having trouble developing games on consoles as well as the fact console games are getting very expensive to make especially on PS3/360. First unlike PC games a developer has to spend more time and money working out the bugs before the game is release. Developing for PS3 has been costly to developers lately ( caused for example GTA4 to be delayed) so consoles themselves are a mixed blessing. Too many have turn to developing shovelware for the wii and boy does wii have a lot of sho

Here where I live Wal-mart PC selection is bigger than any one console alone including wii. Also Bestbuy has a huge PC selection. Thus if you looking for a PC game then go to a store that sells PCs. EB and GameStop has always been more about consoles and not so much about PC. Since EB sells consoles (hardware) and not PC then of course they will focus more on consoles. Another thing I've noticed that Walmart and Bestbuy has most of their console games lock up while PC selection is m
Arg post got eaten The obvious difference is stealing deprives the owned of the object, infringement does not. Governments seem to understand they're different things, that's why copyright infringement isn't a criminal offense (in almost all countries anyway). If you think they're just as bad that's fine, but they're not the same thing.
The government here doesn't really do anything about stealing either unless it's in large amount as often court cost is more than what has been st
Copyright infringement is completely different to stealing, I really don't understand why people try to equate them.
With more statements like this is one reason why the industry has to be so aggressive in protecting their investment and sees Brad move of no copy protection as risky. I really believe there are more people who has this view. Even if the aggressive protective measures fail we the consumers will have to pay for it in the long run.

I feel Civ4 is the most balanced of all civ series yet for some this will make the game less interesting. What really made Civ2 shine was "simplicity" (like a board game). For example; artillery was just another unit with high attack and low defense so the AI didn't have to be programed to handle artillery different unlike Civ3 and Civ4. Another Ex; civ2 had a simple way of dealing with "Stacks of Doom"; if you lose the defender when attacked outside of a city or fort then the whole stack is de
Firaxis is about three times our size (compare Civ IV credits with GalCiv II credits ).
You wouldn't know it by the good consumer support, fully loaded expansions with the many updates we get with Galciv2. We did get a huge expansion with Civ4 BTS though. <b
Am I the only here who would never be able to stand gigantic maps? Are you guys moaning because now there are 300 planets instead of 400? I would HATE having to manage 400 planets. God, it would be so tedious.... ordering 400 new starships to the frey when trying to take over the galaxy every few turns... Screw that.
To be clear: We will still be doing more updates, but from here on out, we have to focus on Twilight of the Arnor so additional updates will have to wait. If you think the decision is made out of a moment of pique, reconsider. The rationale to do a 1.8B to satisfy a tiny tiny number of vocal users has no logical rationale.
Calling us whiners is just childish. The reality is most of us were annoyed enough at your "tweaks" we stopped playing. You should be happy we care enough to say hey, that was a stupid tweak.
I don't know if this is something easy to do or not, but a warning would be sufficient. A popup that says you're about to run out of memory might be easy to program and would pretty much address the issue. Just save and restart the game, problem solved.
