I have the same problem as mikeswi with the new beta 2 version. When I upgrade a ship I loose all the jewelry. I was playing human with some custom designs from the library.

Similar problem happened to me. I am using some of the custom ships from the library and when I upgrade them (with the new beta 2 version) I loose all the ship jewelry. But not the components (I unchecked the Remove Functional Components When Upgrading a Ship Design option). Am I the only one who has this problem ?
