OK , let's see "Mass effect" is out. Wanted to buy it - 3 attempts on different "direct download" sites including EA itself - 3 failures "due country restrictions". So what I have left to do ? - Right, Torrenleech, PirateBay or Demonid. Do I feel OK with it ? - No , I will even probably buy original later but WHY push potential legal customer into this ? (Thats what I do like about SCD/Impulse).

Actually there are only 3 super abilities worth taking. Anyway I am a bit surprised that turning super ability off does not give you more points - it's logical. Also please note that "aggressive" anomalies scan can give you hell lot of abilities. The problem with it is that your ship is unarmed and usually get killed at first war forcing you to research "sensors" if you wish to build another one.

[link="http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2008/05/09/blizzard-abuses-copyright-law"]Here[/link] is another link on the topic of "own" versus "licensed" . While this time I can understand Blizzard's position here - the Glider bot gives unfair advantage to it's users, I do not think Blizzard attack from correct point.

I find it strange he missed all the bugs. I mean Game still "worth it" even with all the bugs and I also would give 5/5 but not at least mention them ?

Slow or not but when you try to design ship with EXACTLY same components as autodesign does you just can't - it does not fit, at least until you research much more levels of minimization in game. So to start with they are perfect defenders, slow yes but much more powerful then the designs you can create. Later in the game you can design your own but in beginning it good thing.

Btw: I think it's a bug but you do not want to disable this feature since it builds better ships than user can. Probably minimalization tech(s) not taken into account.

[quote]I noticed this the other day, when you have the options set so that you are prompted if you want to build a starbase over a galactic resource the prompt appears twice (you accept the first time, then the prompt will reappear for a second time and after you accept there its fine). [/quote] Actually it's "usually" twice , sometimes 3 times and once had it 4 times :)

Yep , not to mention the fact that if you disagree you can't return the product - no store takes opened software box back what ever the reason.

[quote] it would be very nice, if you put your miners on automate, they will upgrade mining stations automatically. Which they dont atm[/quote] They do but there is a bug connected to it :) If they have nothing to do they go into standby , but once you research Space Mining they do not wake up, you have manually "stop auto" to make them tick again.

Btw: [link="http://www.cdfreaks.com/news/More-DRM-disasters-unveiled-not-just-MSN-Music.html"]here[/link] is the link to artical listing a lot of DRM activation disasters, where companies much bigger then StarDock (Sony, Microsoft etc) decided to drop activation for some old product and customers were f$$%ed.

I started similar topic with same concerns (and some additional) [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/307945"]here[/link] but answers I got was pretty aggressive.

Don't beat me but what I like most in TA is that becomes much closer to original MoO :) Really the AI is better indeed, separate tech trees "rules" and even while I do not design my own ships look the moving parts rock ! :) On thing I noticed that while AI become more "logical" it become much easier to play, remember being unable to win in original GalCiv/2 even on easiest settings , now I am not really to challenged on the normal settings. First I thought it's a bad thing b

While I also think Stardock's games a very buggy I still believe they worth every penny. The really critical bugs fixed reasonably fast. It is annoying and hurt your gaming experience to see all the small bugs travel from version to version but really it still a great game.

Sorry for being pain in the a$$ :) but what it really means ? I will be able to "buy" with them Stardock's published games but not from other Impulse partners ? - if it's so it's OK for me , I targeting for new Political Machine and new Fantasy game - will I be able to get thous for tokens ? (if you asking how I end up with 14 tokens - I had some money left in PayPal account that was impossible to withdraw in my country so I "invested" in tokens :))

OK , thanks for reply , I actually do not really care about this bug since when I play I do not do anything else, so if I need to exit I just save and exit. For me it's better then playing in window. Anyway I just "nailed" another bug I saw from long ago but was unable to pinpoint the way to reproduce it. The problem is that at some point planets stop producing ships. Now I know how to reproduce it 100% : 1. Set some planet to build a ship :) (normal ship not colony or

So what I am going to do with 14 tokens I have now ? They going to be converted to some credits or something ?

81 Replies 71,336 Views

Thanks ,no offence intended for anyone but after more then 10 or so years using windows thats not what I really needed. I now that, I just wanted to report bug and btw where is log saved on Vista in GalCiv2 ?

[quote]"Custom Candidate?"[/quote] +1 ? And sorry for being pain in the a$$ but I would really like the [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/310284/page/1/#1717428"]bugs[/link]addressed :), at least someone from SD acknowledged "we know about them" would be nice.
