@honkwomp3 I'm glad to hear I'm not quite the oldest one in the forum :-) Scrolling around a new map I find I am not able to accurately see the entry points or logic for which path will be taken. Pretty much I start the level and restart once I understand. Either I'm not good at exploring the UI, or the mouse over direction I didn't notice could light up the ! on the map like happens when a wave enters.

@FoxURA not sure I've used Ion. I went back through all the levels and used fully upgraded shotgun turrets + pulse cannon. All easy to beat with this combo so you can ramp up the difficulty. Throw in the scavenger, and rush lots of waves to have enough metal. Now I don't have to worry about what the other weapons do until this pair gets n
Easy to beat using single type of turret, pulse cannon, as I learned from this game play: https://youtu.be/5cROEpvkDEE I added the scavenger as well. Still not crazy about the pulse cannon tracking a target it won't shoot at due to LOS, while another unit it could shoot at is going past in LOS.
Agreed, Mission XIII is problematic to beat. My high score in defeat is higher in rank than on any previous map, and I have yet to beat it on normal. It highlights that weapons do not fire without line of sight, which can't be determined with a generic ring of range when placing. I'm on my first binge of play, put I can sympathize with @FoxURA that this level discourages further play if it is just going to get frustration to guess on weapon type and line of sight placement.<
430.64 installed and worked fine. I found 430.39 was not a problem after unchecking, then re-checking GSync. 430.64 I found I can cause to stutter using Alt-Tab to Windows, then back to Ashes. No issue with Alt-Tab if I leave G-Sync unchecked. Mostly a curiosity at this point, except knowing I don't dare Alt-Tab in game because I didn't pony up for the G-Sync video card and monitor to leave it off.
Uncheck "Enable GSync" in the nVidia Control Panel resolved the stutter issue with DX12.
I did the nVidia "clean" install process. Also tried a few different video/window settings. Still always get video stutter unless I launch with the safe button.
Easy to reproduce, just hit "Play" from Steam launcher to get stutter, hit "Safe" to get smooth. Game has not had issues on this hardware before. Using a Dell S2716DG GSync 2560,1440 display, just upgraded to 32G RAM (4x Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) Name Intel Core i7 7700K Codename Kaby Lake Specification Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz Mainboard Model PRIME Z270-AR Name NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Board
The menu background and game map are flashing since GeForce 430.39 installed 4/23/2019. Playing safe mode does not have the issue. Asus GeForce GTX 1070, GeForce Experience 3.18.0.102.
Thanks for posting this, extremely frustrating to see I can't do any subsequent Escalation missions.
I've realized the score doesn't matter so much, have to check the microscopic timer in the upper right. I made it to the 5 dreadnought assault at 27+ minutes, normal setting. Hope that is decent?
I am playing PHC vs. Substrate AI, can crush him at will one level below normal. On normal, I am clearly having map superiority when I am suddenly steam rolled by excessively large armies and quickly lose whether I focus on offense or defense. Looking at the graphs, we are mostly even, then he has a series of huge Metal resource spikes on the chart, and one Radioactive resource spike. Is there a resource drop feature I don't know about, or is normal getting a bonus to en
I'm lasting way longer, killing one dreadnought, then crushed with the wave of multiple dreadnoughts. My score was still under 300, yet when I first tried and died quickly I got over 300. It would be nice to get a timer vs a score. I tried Easier, and Way Easier, but lost in the same time or less. That was irritating. I did my best at Normal, with a mix of units and static defenses, the units are needed for the sheer quantity of enemy that come. I
I'm looking for strategy on getting above 305 on Ascendancy Wars - King of the Hill. I just watched a YouTube where the guy get crushed in the same time frame I do, although he spread off the hill which I hadn't attempted. His score was even lower despite similar 10 minute death. Thanks! Brian P.S. I've owned the game all of two hours, but have played many similar.
