Another aspect is whether or not the guy you want to ally with has the alliance tech. So if you have a close relationship and alliance is not an option, try giving them the alliance tech.
Ok...after 3 more DA games on different map sizes I am again seeing bonus tiles!! So, I assume that the couple post-patch games yesterday without tiles were just some map generation bad luck.
This is really interesting, it seems that this lack of tiles is random. I played another game with the latest patch released today, on a huge map at normal difficulty. Just like the last several DA games I have played the only bonus tile was a 100% on my home planet. I even looked at many AI planets using spys later in the game and did not find any tile bonuses on any non-home planets. I am just wondering since it seems that a couple others and myself seem to have this as the norm while othe
I too have been experiencing this. As the Op stated the only bonus tiles I see in DA anymore are on the starting planets, I have not seen a single bonus tile on another planet in the last 6 games I have played. The map sizes and difficulty level have been varied med-huge and beginner-normal. I have recently gone back to playing DL more than DA because of this, but with 1.6 coming out today I will be trying DA again. Is there some offical reason for the removal of bonus tiles? PS. I
