I definately think bioships should be some very advanced hulls. It would add an awesome dimension to the game. Maybe as a fourth type of armor with a fourth type of weapon to go along with making combat even better?

I would LOVE a retreat button. Also, large ships that can act as carriers. You can load up tiny and small ships into the larger hulls. That would be awesome.
We're all playing a game that has apes that want to take over the galaxy, a robot empire that took ove their masters' homeworld, and our "navy" has shields and flies through space blasting stuff with lasers and there are people out there that are saying a week is "unrealistic" gah...
I never buy factories at the start. I play with all my oponents on bright and I do this. I choose economic/research/military production skills. I crank up my spending to 100%. After that, I queue up a factory (it builds as "never") and keep buying colony ships. When I spend all my money on them I then end up building them somewhere in 4-5 turns. I also take the time in there to build a scout to help my survey vessel look around. I then
I just think the experience gained should be dependant on the experience of the oponent and the type of ship. A very skilled medium frigate should get very little experience from destroying an unpexerienced defender.
Options on the left are always something that you GIVE, also, read the prompts when you do something like that.
Hey guys, I'm sort of an old-school RPer so I like to create my custom race, create elaborate descriptions for ships and pick bonuses based on what my civilization "would have" as well as their political and ethical agenda. Now, my big thing.. Is it possible to go into late game using mainly just fighters (tiny and small hulls) or is the game set up that if you don't use heavy capital ships and frigates you get completely mauled? Just wondering if smaller ships are an opti
I'd LOVE to have custom races set up for the AI to play as well as setting their morality (huge disappointment that it wasn't available this time), I'd have so much fun with that.
Check Best Buy. I went to my local one and saw a few copies there and snagged it up.
It's really great to see the small guy coming up and making such a name for himself. I personally enjoy Galactic Civilization 2 a lot better, simply because of the atmosphere and the ability to really create your ships. This game is.. well.. freakin' awesome. (I never say this about a game either)
Sure does Thanks for the info on that guys!
Simply put, how does it work? Are some weapons faster with less of a punch? Are some weapons stronger with a slower rate of fire and are some weapons just in the middle? Seems to me that lasers = small and fast Mass Drivers = Middle Missles = Strong, but slow. This accurate at all?
Actually, I finished a game with my custom race on Normal last night. I had the Dregin AI pretty much act in such a weak way it was ridiculous. Anyway, I sort of just corned myself in and rushed for a tech victory. The Terran Alliance pretty much dominated them. Now, loaded up a Iconian game on Bright and noticed that the Dregins, while not having the largest empire, are pretty much a power house of an Empire. On the flip side, the Terrans have such a pathetic little Empire at my
I'm not sure the above is creativity based. I had that happen to my custom civilization, though I was very tech heavy (doing over 50% research and going for a tech victory).

Well, frankly, I didn't know the game was going to be this good. I've lost sleep, cleared the weekend, and getting ready for some awesome gaming. I've created awesome custom races (my favorite option so far.. expecially since I can give ship descriptions), but I have an issue... I didn't know the game would be this good and I really would like the collector's addition content. Is there anyway that I could maybe download it (as with other plays being able to do that) via some sort o
It's not really that big of a deal, but I noticed I could save a turn here and there by just clicking on a sun on a partially discovered solar system to see if it is even worth my time to explore. Not that big of a deal, but kinda ehhh..
