"I've noticed that if you have five techs you want to sell to someone, and you sell them all in one go, you don't get as much money as if you sold them one at a time." Hey Matthew Downie, thanks for the tip...I tried it and it's confirmed. More $$$!!! Also, I'm finding that even on tiny masochistic maps this still works!!! So well on my last game in fact that I locked down the AI and put them in too much debt to build anything! Too bad I still can't submit my score (:( <b

Just wanted to voice an opinion on the best way I know how to make money as of late... I posted in a previous thread about the Terraformer, and how I was using Technologists with maximum research bonuses to hit the Terraformer ASAP. I've played 2 games since then...and drew a new conclusion...selling tech is the BEST way to make money. A few reasons: Unlike ships & bulk cash and other things that you can only give away once...tech can be traded to EACH RACE, immedi

Why didn't anybody mention this sooner? (or did I miss it?) Frogboy, in a future update, can you please modify alien survey ships? All survey ships look the same. So unless the Yor collective also gained inspiration from Star Trek, the ships should not resemble that of a human's ship. Maybe more like a cube?? Seriously though...I just tried showing the game to some friends tonight to tell them to buy it and they were making fun of the game because all of

As a side note, this game will be played again a bit more seriously next time with a gigantic map, tight clusters, rare planets, normal setting, technologist government with the following bonuses: 1. Magical +7% PQ 2. 2 pts in research 3. 1 pt in diplomacy I believe that any planet Class 9 or better will hit class 15...but that's still unknown (9+1 at least, so 10 plus 47% PQ bonus???) If rounded down, it all depends on what the Terraformer does for a Class 9.

Here is an experiment that I performed since this morning. The theory was justified, but the overall results were a bit disappointing: Small map, normal setting, AI pure good, scattered, UNCOMMON habitablity (for a reason). Government was Technologists with research bonuses as well as social production and diplomacy. The exeriment: Play hard to achieve the Terraformer. Colonize EVERY planet regardless of class prior to the Terraformer being built. I made it that far with ov

"You might want to submit a game or two to get your empires score above 0." Yes, thanks for the great advice... ;p Seriously though, I've been unable to submit to the metaverse since I bought this game. (I think that problem may be resolved, though) Besides, empires aren't all about scores...they're about ATTITUDE! Lord Alzandrion

*BUMP* (My first bump, damn that felt good...) The GalCiv community is growing. Veteran players grow in wisdom while the newbies increase in numbers. I know there's many of you out there that have yet to join an empire. Join a distinguished society that has propelled the Human cause for countless eras. Alien threats can not hide. The All-Seeing Eye is upon them... Lord Alzandrion

Are there instructions for successfully submitting scores to the metaverse? I've submitted numerous games and still have a score of zero (version 1.04). Am I missing something? I've logged in and out many times as well to test previous theories. Any more suggestions? Feel free to copy and paste any posts I may have missed in this thread...but I'm pretty sure I tried everything. HELP! Thanks in advance.

Generations ago there existed a small faction of Human kind far sighted enough to understand that someday, all Humans must band together as a common race. These people, known as the Freemasons, later evolved into the Human elite through technology, spiritual enlightenment, and the arcane. The Illuminati (Enlightened Ones) represented under 1% of the world's population but would secretly govern Earth until finally, hundreds of years later, contact with alien species would threaten Human existen

I've only had major races ask me to help them fight another race. I've never had anyone ask me to make peace with another (tird party) I think it would be cool, but how would the AI determine that peace is to their advantage? The AI probably supports all wars (unless it's against themselves) because it is a drain on resources, therefore a good thing to their advantage.

Just an FYI... In my current game (the same as listed above) I'm curently swapping 1000 bc at a time for each race...but asking for 100bc for 14 to 31 months! That's 3x profit from Yor and Drengin It's twice my money from Altarian, and 1.5x my money from Torian (and Torian are Hostile towards me) Government spending has never gone below 100%, and my monthly profit is 800bc per month average. Sometimes as much as 1,800bc when I'm trying hard enough.<b

Ditto...please don't make us name each planet upon colonization. Just a little rename tab would be nice for some players (not me)...but don't make it mandatory in the expansion for the same reasons (annoying) I'm all about convenience!

Well...I cracked, I signed up for an empire! As I stated in another thread...I decided that GROSS is the closest thing to human supremecy without "singling out" a certain country or nationality. I'm happy to be here...and looking forward to some PHAT metaverse submissions. May all aliens beware...Alzandrion is coming to strip your DNA apart and clone me a new butler!

Well, I joined G.R.O.S.S., even though I still don't really know what it stands for. As long as I know what the EMPIRE itself stands for...human supremecy in it's purest form. I did some thinking...no need to look for an East Coast empire being that someday all humans will view themselves as 1 race and not tie themselves to a nationality anyway. Thanks PBP for the push...and I look forward to submitting some PHAT metaverse scores in the not too distant future.

1. I'm in NJ and I'm still looking for an empire to join. I'm a good player, but my internet at home has been down so I haven't been able to submit scores (:( Any east coast USA pro-Terran, "down with alien" empires out there? Internet should be up and running tomorrow!!! 2. Is there a thread about the possible ideas for the expansion pack? Not just suggestions...but something a bit more solid? Thanks in advance!

I'm just curious to know how much profit I can get my hands on in a "normal" game... Normal being Federalist government with research, trade route, luck, social & military production, and extra research bonuses. I don't remember ever taking a diplomacy bonus EVER. I think that extra 80% edge in the beginning of the game is crucial to having the trade screen turn GREEN. I'm afraid this play style wouldn't work unless you go for ALL diplomacy...oh well. Just an
