Evil doesn't always need to provide the best bonuses. The should all have 33.3% of being either the best, middle, or worst choice. To balance it out from everyone ending up neutral, you only get a the percent you are leaning. IF you are at 75% (Assuming 0% is neutral) good, then u choosing good option would give you 75% of the benefit. Choosing, evil would get you 0% of the benefit but move you substantially towards evil. (Could have base of 25% for completely opposit choice.) Something to

*I'd like to see the spy/espionage with both the DL and the spys together. Also, I think we should be able to espionage minor civs too using the DL version. They should be mutally exclusive, just added functionality. *The galatic achievements that start with hyperion, dont always affect the entire empire, and ALL GALACTIC ACHIEVEMENTS should always affect the entire civ, otherwise they should be downgraded to civ achievements as appropriate. *I've seen alot of remarks in diffe

Imagine a transport with a thousand legions of troops. That's 1 billion people. If I were going to design a transport like that, I'd make sure it could seperate into tiny ships that could individually assualt - and hopefully - exterminate the entire existing population. Meaning thousands of individual pods swarming the entire planet and hey if the entire population is dead there's no possibility of gorrillas messing with your transplanted civilization... <img src="http://images.stardock.

I think there's a catch 22 on peace treaties and alliances. In my last game (small galaxy, 3 AI, I had an alliance with the Terrans and was at war with the Drengin. They asked me for peace and I agreed. The very next turn they attacked my ally the Terrans. I was forced to choose to take a diplomacy hit for not keeping my treaty, or a diplomacy hit for declaring war on the Drengins... either way I was toast. I choose to honor my treaty with the Terrans, since I had research and an economic treaty

I love superwarror ability, especially with luck, which increases minimum damage. Also there's an ability which increases your odds in ground attack as well. Can't remember it off hand since it was my last game and I didn't last very long, but I remember doing devastating planetary assualts with mass driver and constantly getting high scores because it ups the minimum odds. Now what was that called?

Not to pick but, the size of the ship has no bearing. ??? Actually wormholes are inherently unstable in the presence of mass, do to poorly understood quantum effects. In this game reality takes a backseat to the AI. Specifically what makes for a better AI versus more realistic models. I think that's a fair exchange overall. I may not agreed with everything, but it works ...

That seems very difficult to answer since influence is a number instead of a percentage. How would you know unless you were able to calculate every empire seperately. Minor civs don't get influence for their world - as far as I can tell, however, some build influence SBs. So how does one measure such?

Sorry, didn't mean to sound whiney, I was just commenting on how much more intense the DA experience is compared to DL. I prefer fast hard games, which is why I started a new DA on a small map with 8 major civs, all adjusted for max abilities, no tech trading, and AI resources set at 10% with all races intelligent. Also have random minors but never got. It wanted a set up with each major AI getting 1 sector, and me getting mine. Very interesting game. Turns out the Yor got to colonize the majori

Reply #10 4) Will only slightly impact your relations with others (you will get tagged with 'tendencey to conquer others') This impact is not slight at all. My last game I got hit with the "secret meeting" event because of this. Every major race left in the galaxy declared war on me. The game before that the Torians declared war on me the very turn I was about to win an influence victory, because I had conquered 2 minors much earlier. I got labeled this in my 2nd game

Dear (Citizen)Roxlimn April 27, 2007 04:18:05 I just started playing DA and I've been eating humble pie every day now for the past 3 days. All my DL strategies seem to need revising - there's a HUGE difference between Tough DL and Tough DA ... extreme colonization is a major headache for me at the moment. I used to rachet up my tech research whenever I researched the next higher level of tech building. However, now I'm getting smeared all over the galaxy before I can ever get close

Yes, its my DL game. And a huge hull constructor with max hyper-warp Mk3 engines is quite reasonable when you consider I'm playing on a gigantic map. Otherwise the number of turns per game is ridiculous (I'm already above 200+ game turns as is, and using normal constructors has several disadvantages ... 1) speed, it simply takes too long to move across the galaxy. 2) pirates like to follow constructors and a "wagon trail" back to my home system is a recipe for disaster. 3) the AI likes to attack

Thanks, I found that building an eco SB on a trade route extended my range sufficiently to make the lower left map corner ( I am lower right). After that I could reach the star system with my Titan Class constructors that travel at 107 moves per turn - huge hull, and all engines. The AI doesn't design constructors so their rapid speed allows me to topple worlds with influence SBs long before the AI's constructors can arrive to build influence SBs of its own. I now have 32 worlds while the Iconia

Dear (Citizen)Mascrinthus April 25, 2007 11:23:57 I tried a DA game with mega events and received lots and lots of them. I started with the Terrans as my team and at war with the Drengins, Krynn as neutral. Right in the middle the Terrans sided with the Drengins and attacked me - dirty @#!!s. Makes for an interesting game

I checked my results on invasions with my garrison ships (500 troop module with a fleet of 6) and discovered I had no such luck as before. In fact I lost 2 troop transports after winning the battle and the surviving population matched what I had in my ships and the planet. I suspect either I was extremely lucky or there is something different about using modified precursor rangers. Either way I couldn't duplicate my previous results.

I've reviewed the debug files and discovered my video drivers were dated to 11/06 and the newest is 02/07. When I purchased and installed DA 2 days ago I still had the multiple SB issue. I also went to AMD and downloaded the latest fix for dual-core TCM issue, just to be thorough. I'll keep you updated with my progress.

I have been building cargo hulls and upgrading them to engines. If a plan my civ carefully I start with up to 4 ion engines going at 7. When I find a good planet I upgrade to a stripped down colony ship and colonize with 1 pop. On a small map I need 2 basic life support to reach everything, so I design a colony ship and scout, both with 2 basic life support. I also design a colony ship with ion engines for ferrying pop to my colonys. This strategy allows me to save my home world for growth, whic

Since I upgraded to DL version 1.4 my minor races seem very tame in comparison to what they were ... now I have DA and haven't noticed any real activity. Perhaps they toned down the minors to enhance the AI for the major races, or maybe there just isn't enough cpu left for the minors since I enabled force max cpu in DA?

Have you evr ran into a range cap? I'm playing on a gigantic map and I can't go past an orange line about 10 sectors away. Even if I add life support the game won't let me. Since I've never experienced this before I am going to try building a starbase to extend my range. All the worlds in that area are owned by the AI. I tried reaching the Terrans but couldn't pass the line, and now they surrenderd to the Arceans. Too bad. Half the map is unexplored <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/

I know I am new to this game, but I have been reading the forum posts and experimenting with different ideas. For speed, I build a cargohull with engines only - easiest to build a hull then upgrade to engines, and I go straight for the stars looking for planets I can colonize (a colony module is size 20 so I don't use it initially). When I find a suitable world I upgrade to my cargohull with colony module only design. I get 1 colonist, just enough to claim the world so the AI can't. This worked

In DL there's an option to manually disable minor races, but I love minor races, especially Sanderians - they taste good with catsup
