I think these screen captures sas a lot about the game. Heck these are better than most space battle pitures I have ever seen for sale at a SF convention, And these are still captures from the video. One could use these to make a fan story about the exploits of the fleet or to accompany the proposed epic story generator. To create these, I just screen captured these by hitting the PRT -SCRN key, pasted them into MS Paint and uploaded them on a new

These are screen shots I took to send to a ft=riend who wanted to know what they battle viewer looked like. Click on the image for a larger view of the image. I am using here the new fleet formation sfrom the 1.12.009 Beta and 15 as the setting for ambient light, I ususally run battles at half speed running cinematic, free cam, orbiting and center out views. <img src

Try larger sized games (large huge or higher) at the obscene or suicidal levels under the 1.2 .009 Beta. Self limit some advantages if you are that good. (no eyes of univere, no trade goods) The Stupid AI planet management (zillions of embassies morale and farms) is mostly fixed in 1.10.009, the AI is much more aggressive, and the production and research bonuses compensate for the stalls in its strategic thinking. Frogboy has still to engage the intensive CPU op

Played game at Obscene. AI had no problem with tech. Built worlds with 1 or 2 research per world with rest factories mostly. Tech and Manuf bonus squares were used properly. Generally rational placemnet. Dramatically improved management. Factories built pretty much as I would have built them for a conquest victory. Thalen did build a lot of morale on one world, but was a rational decision on a border world with a zillion population. <br/

Please, the problem wasn't the view jerking around. The problem was with ships being selected without being told. I find that the death of auto focus (you can still enable it in the options) solved the problem for me. I just remember to click on the next ship I want to select or I hit FIND or the Tab Key to select the next sh

Oh, and as of 1.2 beta a game-breaking bug (skipping a production turn on load) hasn't been fixed, or even acknowledged by Stardock. That skip after load affects both you and the AI equally. It doesn't happen if you just save a game and continue. It may be changed in the future, but the way it works is as designed, IMHO. It's not

If you're a casual gamer you will find the AI challenging and should buy this game. If you're a veteran strategy gamer, once you begin understanding the game you will find how flawed the AI is. Personally, the AI never gave me a challenge. AI is significantly improved in 1.2.009 Beta See report below <a href="https://forums.ga

As a update I just wanted to say for the 2nd night in a roll I am impressed. The new combat system as a whole greatly improves the game. The attrition of your attacking force has now become a real issue and the AI is no longer grossly handicaped by lack of strategic initiative. The whole feeling of battle to be had become much more exciting and realistic, as a real grognard that is important to me. The battles seem much more like real fleet engagements with real
