I have a dell 1905 19 inch monitor that I have been running the game in 1280x1024 landscape mode. I finally tried it in windowed mode at 1024x1280 ( I didn't realize at first that the w flag had to have a space betwen it and the shortcut pointer) and I liked that. Even though the resolution was the same, now whenever i switched to another program, or clicked on another program, on the extended desktop, the game stayed up. So I now could keep up the galectopedia or website on my second monito

Ability to eliminate blue text below ships to eliminate display clutter when zooming out. Text merges and overlaps and just clutters when zoomed out. Abiility to toggle on or off items in the strategic map, eg empty planets. or various race fleets. I might only want to look at where the Drengin and my fleets are. etc.

Thanks Frogboy for the comment. I actually understand and like the intent. To get some impact you have to waste some troops and multiple transports ( so it is not free, it is a tradeoff ) and it is not a clear thing that you will always fail, its like you are sending in suicide shock troops that are playing with WMD fire. Judge it right and you do sacrifice troops to waste the garrison, get greedy and actually capture the planet and you actually slag vaste portions of

Is this a bug?, cheese? or a legitimate tactic? I just tried this and it works on beta 3 . If you send one transport 1000 troops and do core detonation and mass drivers they can sacrifice themselves but kill 4x5 times the defending troops because of the mass driver/core detonation bonuses. After they can kill off most/some of the defending troops, but still lose, the planet doesn't suffer any penalty (because you haven't conquered it), Bu

How about allowing a toggle to switch on or off icons in the large map when it is fully zoomed out and becomes a strategic map with icons. I would like to eliminate some of the clutter during the latter stages of the game, by eliminating the white planet circles, my own starbases, developed resouces, my own ships, enemy ships. By toggelling things on or off, one could highlight various things like enemy ships, etc, Also, How about a toggle or settings switch to elim

One of your strengths is your dedication to upgrading and the ease of it through stardock. I for one, and many others I am sure, will always now buy any upgrades expansion packs and sequels to GalCiv2 because of the previous gameplay experience and the trust I have in you that you will continue to tweak the game until it reaches it fullest potential. By the way , previous GalCiv1 owners are great prospects for this game, Have you done a co

"""""If you're a person who buys a gaming magazine, you've probably already heard of this game. If you're going to spend money on a mag most likely you have already been on gaming websites (free!) and most have had some kind of writeup. So you're trying to get people who have already seen it but haven't yet bought it to lay down hard earned cash for it. Play up: DEMO --- most reviews were out before this was ready """" Agree completely make prominen

Same type of crash, attached id debug. I think the problem is that I was running the windowblinds desktop of the GalCIv2 theme. After I loaded up todays beta 110b2010 beta I could get Galciv2 to run. The opening scenes loaded very slowly and wass poor resolution, after i hit escape after a very long wait the oppening screen came up but ws very sluggish and jerky t mouse movements. After I restored the windows desktops the problems vanished. <

I own a small ad agency and have had some experience in software marketing for client/server professional aps. I used to prepare software sales for large shows and advertised in some major trade magazines. My consumer experience is not in software though I do know the theory (MBA etc, I have too much education LOL). My thoughts is that for a large 1 page or 2 page spread, you need to have major screenshots showing the most dramatic elements that make the game unique in the ways tha
