Ascendancy Great Game. But Absolutely the Worst AI ever implemented in a Game. What a waste. If that game had developoers 1/10th as dedicated as the Stardockies, that would have been a classic. People that complain about the Galciv2 Ai should have played that game. Even after the agression patch it was unplayable after a few games. It did look nice though.

When the AI goes to war with me, I get a nice diplomatic message that gee, we are going to war with you Mr Human player. Then the AI does nothing before I get to move and shot first. It's since the computer play declares war, then doesn't shoot me until I after I move, I have a nice bit of warning and can preempt and kill his ships, if I have more movement. Too easy for me. If you don't have photoshop or another graphics program, you can use Windows paint for screen shots. Press The "print screen" button on your keyboard which copies your screen into your windows clipboard memory. On windows XP, you can go to the start menu - programs - accessories - paint. Open a new file in paint and paste the contents into the new file. Save as a JPEG file.

Hey Frogboy, on the same subject above, Just started a new Large map with 9 players all on Genius AI. Steadily increasing the difficulty level. Just ended the colony rush and established diplomatic relations with all players. I noticed that evryone including me has only 6 or so planets, down from around 9. Thats 60 or so habitable planets down from 90 with the same settings. Is this random variation or did you guys change the starting mix. I may not have contact with

I just don't understand while many of the planets I conquer from the AI have 4 or 6 embassy and or more improvements on them instead of factories. If the AI had built factories or research items on them it would have created a more substantial fleet invasion tech defense for my assaults. I have played mostly on large maps and I seem to see this when the AI has 8-15 planets. Even those planets safely in the middle of his empire have embassy improvements. This seems like a waste.

As I am moving my ships around I have gotten used to clicking the Find tab with the mouse to find the next ship with move points and then hitting the "C" key on the keyboard to center on it and then using the scroll middle button on my mouse to zoom in. I then right click to move the ship. Is there a mouse way to center the map on the ship? It would be nice if double clicking on the map, or center clicking or something would center on the current ship with movement point

Before I read the entire list of comments I wanted to add this. I have a new dual CPU Pentium D 820 2.8 Mhz x2 with 2 Meg ram. I noticed that the load and save times were dramatically significantly increased when I used the Terran Fleet Pack from the download library and I had a lot of transports and constructors with that extra jewrly running around in a large or better universe in the late game. 1.10 seems to have made this better, but I definately concur tha

When a single ship or a fleet is stacked with a starbase, do they help defend the starbase? That is when a enemy ship attacks the starbase parsec does it attack the fleet or ship first or does it attack the starbase? Is it a viable strategy to have fleets defend starbases, especially in the early game when production is critical, or do I have to upgrade the starbases with atk/def modules that will rarely be used. I have never had a SB attacked, I have always intercepted

I was able to create my character *Kosty* ok I was able to create a character now, but after I I logged in and out, and tried to edit my main character was replaced by a new character and icon, i didn't create. I tried to reenter my character but it said my name "Kosty" was already taken. *sigh* I have now entered "Kosty-1" instead of "Kosty" which I perfer.
