What is the effect of destabilization on the human player? I just beat my first game, and there was one time where my recorded income was wrong. Is that an effect? Also there was a period where my income fluctuated by hundreds of bc every turn. I had to alternatively reduce and increase my expenditures to compensate or go into debt. Is this destabilization occurring?

fantastic! that resolves my question, and the questions those answere inspire. I am currently involved in a viscious war with the drengin, and trying to keep the Yor out of my business. They were so far behind everyone tech wise I foolishly traded them non - mlitary techs and now they threaten my trading empire :^(. ah well, live and learn.

The best I've doen is taken out one and a half freighters before losing my battle hammer. I hear of legendary fights of one ship versus 99 others, and taking little to no da

I wish this forum were more like a BBS, with subjects and such. I'm playing my first semi-successful game, against dumb-ass AI this time :^). I can trade for "influence". What does this mean? I have one Star Base, and it was really expensive and cost me a constructor.. it gives me a 5% econ bomus in the sector, that doesn't seem worth it. I can add modules or something, but at $200+100 months it seems a very expensive. I have several Trade Routes. they ar

Can someone give me a hand with this? I have the newest version of GalCiv, and updated everything via stardock. I have an exe, "galcivw.exe" I assume that runs Galciv in a window.. but it brings up a black window that immediately closes. I am running win2k with a GF2 and 256MB RAM.
