I meant I provoked them before I was ready, not early in the game, but too early for me. Since I spent so long buildign up my network of starbases to slow anything going through my culture to a crawl, I was unable to get enough ships for war. And I provoked him into attacking me just as I was starting to roll them out.

I must say my current game went much much better. I actually surrendered. It was my fault I lost, I provoked the Korath too early into a war and my network of military starbases could not cope with their 500 missile power fleets. I took chunk of his territory and I thought I was ok since I saw no transports, then I realized too late he doesnt use transports D:... Anyway it was very good game. Next time I'll be more aggressive early. I realized building a network
There should be an option to upgrade not all but as many ships as u can afford.
Approval is not hard to master :) I tend to stuff my races with happy bonuses and trade for morale buildings anyway. I play at 80% tax with near 100% approval across the board.
Thnx Marvin. I'll definitely give it more of a try. Just that my current game seems to be a wash. I was great friends with Altarians, too. Given their shortcomings I thought I can have them be my trade partner.... Then it turned out that I got one too many planets colonized or some nonsense and everyone and their mother declared war on me. This should be a cause of concern usually, but the AI was pathetic, only Torians could mount an effective attack... for a while anywa
irrevenant I installed and ran one of these mods, it did no good. In fact it broke Altraians for me the first game I played after I installed it. They used to use combat ships but not anymore. I am not interested in the cause of the malfunction, only that it exists. I have been a supporter of Stardock for MANY MANY years, as my member Number would indicate, and between this and the state of Elemental I do not feel good at all. And as far as DA goes, I did not
I must say I love the new tech trees. Unique buildings for each race are great. And the fact you can trade ur unique techs is even more awesome. But the buggy AI is awful :( I installed the patch to fix the AI, but that does not seem to work. I am facing Altarians who built nothing but troop transports. I'm playing on Tough and its a cakewalk.
If it was a galactic achievement or super project I could consider this. As is the late game becomes so much about spamming starbases it makes me ill :(
I tend to start the game by fortifying worlds with 6 tinies with mil starbase always at center of each sector. At first, only a gun on each. Eventually upgrading to version with both a defensive and a weapon. When I'm starting to encounter too many mediums, I upgrade my pickets to mediums for extra HP. I take all tinies and upgrade them into tiny constructors and use em on the starbase. Hopefully by then I will have tech to ugrade +30 attack and +20 defense to ma
Honestly I'd like a reduction in number of starbases, but increase in their power. Perhaps to a point where they could become small colonies themselves! Also additional colonization options along with new initial colony options (Where u can upgrade the initial colony to something else in later game). For example instead of building a tech capital, why not have the option of upgrading the colony building into a tech capital? Finally do something with engin
In case of MP simultaneous moves would be a must. In Civ4 for example there is option for simultaneous move, used quite a bit in mp.
I thought that Federation Comprised of 184 home worlds, plus any number of colonies. But anyway. Once I work out a good governor, I will play bigger games. My problem now a day is the early colonize race.... it's mind numbing.
There is an open online course in AI by Stanford University https://www.ai-class.com/registration/
How does this purchase or teamup affect the future of Impulse Marketplace? Is it DOA? Are will we still have the option of selling our old games?
When an enemy civ acquired a ranger that was ridiculously stacked, I rush built 3 Large ships with tons of evil weapons on them using microsoft option in order to berserk through its defenses. Silly me, I didn't realize the AI places such a low value on single ship I could have bought it from them for 100th the value of my 3 ships :(
Kryo don't get troll baited. Frogboy, stop scaring me!!!!!!! What has brought on this sudden doomsday prediction! If you worry bout spore, I'm not buying it. It may be the one game I looked forward to, but the copy protection is ridiculous. Hell Windows XP copy protection is ridiculous IMO! I wish to make games of my own. Ones that will give people a nostalgia feeling of the good old days. If there is no place for company like yours in the future, then there is no place f
Ahh the good old Neutral, what happened to you?

Sorry to hear that. Terrible thing, these sensitivity treatments. You see while experience gamer can shrug it off, hell even get a smile on their face when they get a rise out of someone over the internet, most people just can't handle it. Some will quit, which leads to loss of revenue, and these games being businesses cannot allow that! I think if I ever ran a MMO, I would turn it into a nonprofit, so I can allow greater freedom hehehe.
If you read an official response from Bioware, all the reactivation's occur on the same server, so games in the future will use the same activation process and they will have no reason to remove old games from it because it isn't costing them any more upkeep money. Granted, maybe when the game is "that" old, they will release a patch that removes this reactivation.
Yeah no reason other than the belief if they take away the game you will go and buy a new one, hopefully fro
PC gaming will quit dying as soon as EA stops stabbing it in the back with a rusty pick.
This game sounded like a dream come true to me when I first heard of it. I had to have it. I did not know it was years away, imagine my unboundedness when I couldn't find it a gamestop. Since the "I have to have it" moment years ago, I have been steadily leaning towards disappointment. When I heard EA was publishing this, I had a cold chill crawl across my back. Like I just found out my family has been killed during a brutal home invasion. I hate EA! If it were a pers
I am no expert, but I always thought them to be viable with starbase support.
OH WOW did not know this, good info!
It is even easier to make an AI that simply makes the player quit in frustration!
