I like bugs. Ants specifically. Are you saying the FOW bug only appeared on big maps? If that's the case..... AARRGGHH! Oh, well. The FOW fix patch is out anyway.

First of all, I got it backwards. I have research treaties but no economic treaties. No, the other races don't have economic treaties as far as I can tell, but I still have not encountered two races. As far as the minor race goes, I have not seen any mega-events happen. I just found the minor race. Also, I have many times encountered a minor race that doesn't have my technologies. In fact, this is the first time for me to see one that does have all my techs. I am playing on a g
DA v1.5068 - sandbox game There might be some non-bug explanation for these that I'm not aware of. This is probably a coincidence, but I first noticed these bugs just after I encountered the FOW bug. First this happened 1. I have economic treaties from many races, but no research treaties. I just finished building diplo translators and decided to try and get a research treaty with another race. The research treaties used to show up in the tradable items from the races
Here are a couple of economy micromanagement ideas. They are more important early in the game and more important on higher difficulty levels. When you are completing a research project extra research points spill through to be used on another reserach project, but this is not true for social or military projects (you just lose any excess miliatary or social points). You can use micromanagement to squeeze out more research. Just turn the focus on research for planets that have one or two
Improve colonization ship interface: 1. Be able to see where you are already sending colony ships (on either map or on the planet listing) 2. Be able to list of currently colonizable planet, ignoring those you don't have the ability to colonize (maybe I just haven't been able to figure this out) Similarly improve constructor interface. It would be nice to have a base list as a third tab to the ship and planet list.
No, it`s not. Miscommunication I can understand, I get no communication other then Kryo on these forum`s. I don`t want to post this, I really don`t. But, I`m not kidding when I write I`m getting zero response from support. I`ve tried being nice. Apparently I only get a response when I rant and rave like a madman. What else can I do here? Check you bulk mail?
Is it me or are building upgrades still taking as long as if you were building it from scratch? I played a bit last night. I'm not completely sure, but I think that the time to completion message for an upgrade is the same as for a new structure, but the upgrade actually gets bult faster than advertised.
On Feb 24th 10:20pm I wrote back Hi, Try manually updating the serial number. Do this by going to Stardock Central, Tools > Register Products. In that menu use the tabs on the left side to select the category then in the main window please set the software name. Copy and paste the serial number in the box and hit update to update your serial number in the Stardock Central records. After that you should be all set. Just as a follow up if thing
OK THANKS LOL WHAT DO YOU MEAN TICKET??? He means send them an email at [email protected] explaining your problem.
Just to clarify, I think that GalCiv2 is a great game. I just don't see realism as its strongsuit. We're dealing with 2D space where moving diagonally is the same distance as moving at right angles, so realism is sort of out the window. Also since neutral ships block entry to a square, you can create a moving chokepoint of sorts already by employing the gimmicky and extremely unrealistic tactic of using a line of ships to screen races you aren't at war with. If you were so inclined you
Why does realism have to factor into this anyway? It's not like every other element of the game is realistic. I think suggestions like this should be evaluated on how they affect gameplay, period.
Nice work! I noticed DA Interstellar Governments gives a tech bonus of "+0% culture" according to your tool.
It happened twice in a row last night, but now I can't reproduce the crash. If it happens again I'll send the exception report.
If you roll the mouse wheel on the galaxy pop-up map, the game crashes to the desktop.
If the developers created a new class of improvements that would have an effect on all planets in a system (or a sector, although that would sort of duplicate a starbase) and could only be used once per star system, that would open up a lot of new strategies, especially for low PQ planet colonization and development. Both the resort and the police building would be perfect (and useful) for one per star system buildings.
In the case of social projects, you can buy a project and then immediately set your spending on the next project that same turn. This is unlike ships, where you have to wait a turn and all your military spending that turn gets wasted. I was just thinking about the tradeoff between dramatically increasing your research for a turn or getting a slight decrease in cost for purchasing the partially built social project the following turn.
Nice! Thankyou. I do have a few comments. Tip 17 If you are going to buy both a social project and a ship in a turn and you only have one planet, why not set spending to 100% research (instead of 50% social and 50% research)? Tip 18 People might want to manually explore at the beginning before setting auto-explore on.
Caeli, Did you try this? Fire up SDC. Go to the games tab. In the menu, click on tools-register products. Choose the product from the dialog box. Copy and paste the DA serial number they sent you. Enter the same email address as you entered when you purchased the game. I actually got on error message here, but I was able to continue. I had two Stardock accounts and that threw SDC for a bit of a loop. I did contact Stardock and they promptly merged m
Wow, RandomJames! You trust them with your credit card information but not your email address. There really is no need use a tricky email account. The email address is to benefit you, not them. Anyone can misuse information, but my experience is that the Stardock guys have always been straight-up. It sounds like you have two or more SDC accounts that you need to merge. I feel like I need to stick up for Stardock. The folks are really helpful here, and more active in support and
Register the game like kryo said, then you should be able to install. I personally found Stardock pretty convenient and quite unlike odiferous bovine excrement.
Hey, galenbd! I didn't say anything about Laser 1. My comment was infinitely more insightful.
Not only does the colony manager screen need a minimap, but so do the planetary production screen and the ship production screen. Otherwise, on larger maps, players are reduced to gimmicky planet naming, and/or extra mouse clicking to get optimal production. It would also be nice if the planet list and the colony management screen were linked so they were automatically sorted the same way.
Nice concept, but I'm not sure how it would work in practice. Unless (see exception below) the the research costs were perfectly balanced most players would figure out the best new weapons vs. enhancements tech path and follow it every time. Then it wouldn't be a real choice. Because of the way the AI chooses new tech paths this would end up working to the player's advantage and the AI's detrement. The other effect it would have is to let players catch up really quickly in weapons areas
Is there an easy way to see where a planet is on the galaxy map (like the mini-map) when setting a production order for a ship or a social project?
