Thanks for the help. It was driving me crazy looking for it. First real game with the ascension resource. Thanks for pointing out there are always 5 You guys where right i had sent my scouts out and they had finished thier duties but had missed the last ascension resource in a corner.
I started a war with the Torians since thier ascension count down was under 75 turns i blew up the one ascension base they had the timer still counts downi have taken about 1/2 thier planets as well now. I have a large tech lead other than weapons and i have finished many of the tech branches already and dont think they are that far into the tech win tree. i have idea how about a genetic mutation at gives a 50/50 chance at increase in point or decreas in points. That way a player might have to get rid of an ability or weaken it or better yet more points to spend.

I have had this a couple times already. Although it can be a little confusing since the NPC has the colouring and icions as you and specially if they start close to you on the map. But it really is not that bad, but a feature to disable them would be handy.

I have to say more than one Construction module would make sense. A medium ship with one module on it equals the same raw usable materials as a huge ship with one module on it? That to me means there is a huge resource waste other than getting it there faster with more engine power. What about the idea of each ship size up from Medium you can add one more module. to me that makes sense as there is more ship for raw materials and also room to store more needs materials i
One feature i would really like to see added would be when looking at "Unowned" Planets being able to filter from all to possibly each type seperatly but most important would be at least filter out planets you can not colonize at the moment. P.S. -- Ship building window should have similiar buttons for components (newest,old,all) as does the planetary screen for buildings. Is a great idea.

I think that loosing your capital is pretty damb stupid. Maybe the Rich and fully developed Homeworld is sick and tired of proping up the outer Planets and rebel and join other like minded Planets. It is not that unreasonableand just one of other reasons your homewolrd would be upset enough with the leaders policies to take action.
Having the old items to build is a great idea as i hate taking over a new planet and then try and build the newest best items right away, where if you could start with older factories as a base it make much more sense. just my 2 cents
What about if you get the Event warning the star in going nova you are able to research a tech called something like "Star ReStarting" or what ever but it allows you to fix the collapse. The tech would only pop up at event and then research it. Make it so the tech is a long and costly affair to reseach.

Spy Techs would be a nice touch, ie Spy School. Plus if you wipe out an AI the spy are wiped to like ships and such are. I have noticed in the 3 games i have played so that if i don't place spies the AI never places one on my planets. But in a game where i did use spies the AI was far out producing me. I had wiped out all other factions and was down to one AI and on a couple turns it produced 2 spies at once. At the end of that game i had 22 spies on my few planets

I must admit that the in my second game was the first time the Yor where around. I had a large tech lead beacuse of trading and 50% resources going in to tech. So i invaded the minor races took them over Then Thalan. Flew my ships into Yor space. My Fleet within striking distance and my Transports a turn behind but now well with Yor space but a turn away from my juicy target.So i happily attack wipe out defenders End Turn. Next turn try to move to next target planet and rea
I have found the combat to be fine i tink most people don't "See" the AI using dirty tactics like Mass Drivers and think the AI is cheating or it is unbalanced. If my Tech level is higher and I am defending I have many times inflicted greater losses on the AI it is all Random Generation. If your Tech Rating is 95 and their's is only 15 you are giong stand a much better change of inflicting sever losses to the AI but also depends on the Tatics used in combat.
