"Saying "It combines 4X depth with real-time gameplay" is like saying "It combines chess with Whack-A-Mole"." There are games that combined a turned based campaign map with real time battles, and they are good. If you dont know about them then you need to play more games instead of acting like you know what your talking about when you really don't. You could make an awesome MOO2 style campaign map combined with great homeworld style real time battles and get away with probably
lots of angry kids in this topic, lol
Just face the fact that for anything like this to come into fruition the entire games concept of planets needs to be rewritten. They would need to do the Space Empires or Master of Orion concept of atmospheres, and make this race something like that Silicon race from Master of Orion 2. The game's mechanics wont support that and it would probably unbalance the game. In a sequel they should add atmospheres, temperatures, gravity, etc. It would make the game more interesting and a
Before I had a problem where it would download and not install, now it will simply get to 100% and restart continuously, it will just keep on downloading as if it can't save. Anyone know how to fix any of these problems? Its incredibly annoying.
Still doesn't work, can anyone help?
I am downloading the game through Stardock and after it finishes downloading and it going to extract it gets stuck at 4% on PlanetToxic_3.raw. How do you fix it?
I'd say December simply because any additions that would be made in January can simply be included in a patch. I dont see why people can't see that this is what would happen.
The most original and greatest concepts in games always seem to get cut. I'd be willing to pay for this feature by its self! It adds something that needs to be attempted in a strategy game and i'm willing to pay an expansion pack price for just this. Well maybe $20.... but still i'm sure many would agree with me. I'd pay full stand alone retail game price for Dark Avatar if this feature were included.
IMO Temple of Elemental Evil could of been one of the greatest games, if it was finished. The gameplay at its core was pretty much, imo, the successor to the gameplay of Baldurs Gate, a GREAT strategic game on its own, and it was the concept that Neverwinter Nights should have used. I dont understand why they have to, in Dungeons and Dragons games, change the concept of gameplay so much when at its core it easily translates to a great tactical PC game. They only take some VERY basic concepts, li
Using stardock centrl the game wont install, it downloads but when it gets to 100% it resets back to 0% never finishing. Is there any way to get this working?
When I try and run the game it says "The product appears to be validated but the serial number or the machine SID don't match". I was playing it yesterday, what is going on here?
Spies in this way are annoying and hard to keep track of. I remember everone HATING this way of doing it in the Call to Power Civilization series... I prefer things like this to be all in one menu, myself. Like how it is on Space Empires 5 or Master of Orion 2. The best idea, imo, is a hardcoded limit on spys or you get more spies depending on % of spy skill. Like 1 spy every 10%.
Well one other way to look at it would be to have the # of spies tied to your espionage ability. Thats a good idea, i'm glad that you posted that as well this is a good direction to take it IMO. Their definately should be a limit to how many, like maybe 1 spy per every 10% skill or something? I think that would be a good limit.
The lack of races is a downside.I like epic games with loads of different races, alliances, etc. Its supposed to be more like homeworld, that game had only 2 "races".
On the game Star Control 2 their were the urquan and Korah who opposed eachother because one race wanted to enslave all the lesser races while the korah wanted to exterminate them. They both had very simular philosophies, is that where this idea came from? Korah also have a very simular name to korath as well.
ROFL the idiocy of copy protection companies doesn't end.... Its like shipping out a allergy pill and saying it ONLY gives 28% of all who use it cancer.
a gigantic game in 1 year? How is that even possible?
In all the recent space strategy games the so called "genius" creators fo the game have abandoned turn based combat for favor of real time, usually against the wishs of the games fan base. Turn based combat would be fun, finally a game with it. the only time i control moo3 combat is when i want to run before the battle begins wait...
if it annoys you that much the easy solution after complaining, which you of couse should, is to simply not use it.
wonder if they ever did the experiment of 'love making' in space or zero gee.... Astronauts stuck on a space station for months on end in a "co-ed" environment, lol. I'm sure they have allready done so.
other than hard reset, my poor hard drive. I've owned computers since the 80s, hard reset doesn't do shit dont worry. You should say "my poor windows" as thats the only thing that can mess up.
I'm going to wait for the expansion... i'm bored of the repetative gameplay and that is the next thing GC2 has to offer that really adds anything worthwhile. Unless of course they add multiplayer... facing an AI opponeant only is satisfying for so long. Many other games to play.
