I love the fact that with GalCiv2, it doesn't require the CD to play. Too many games have tons of copy protection and weird software that gets installed which prevents normal users from even playing the game. Ubisoft ditched StarForce (thankfully) recently. I just wanted to check and make sure Dark Avatar doesn't have weird copy protection software on it. The ability to use the serial number and download the game if my CD gets scratched is awesome! Thanks for being a cool indie developer!

Has anyone here played Star Wars: Rebellion? It's an older strategy game similar to GalCiv I guess. You have characters that can perform missions, construction yards to build refineries, etc. It's a lot of fun even though it's quite old. I just thought maybe the Stardock team might play it a little to get ideas.

In terms of a research strategy, I usually just sort everything by the time it will take and research the fastest item. There are only a few specific circumstances when I need a specific technology when I will deviate from this. Do people think this is an OK strategy?

I was just thinking it would be nice if the Stardock software (which is excellent) could show the estimated time to completion for the downloads. I'm patching GalCiv2 right now and I have no idea how long it will take... Anyway, just a suggestion.

So in the game I'm currently playing, the Yor received a Ranger. I've tried destroying it and I've created a ship using the most cutting edge technology I have to try to counter it. However, I cannot destroy it and it keeps getting experience. I even have the other groups at war with the Yor just to see if that would help. How can I beat them? Should I try sneaking ships and transports in to take their planets? I have basically no money because t

I think it's fantastic that you support SP completely and put all your time and effort into it. However, I think either a small patch to provide hotseat or simple LAN MP would be excellent. Or, an expansion would be fine too. By adding MP and SP aspects and content to an expansion you appeal to both groups. Whatever you decide... Gal Civ II is a great game! <

Wow looks fantastic. I've played Warlords for HW2 and it's sweet. Nice job. Would it be possible to mod the ground units and structures and so on too? Even research? If so, you could go all out with this thing and make the whole Star Wars universe. Good luck.

Hello. In the ship design view, when you add a component there is the remove button. To the left of the remove button there is a slider. I've moved it around but it doesn't seem to do anything. What is it? Thanks.

Ok thanks. I will try the window mode and see if that makes a difference. It seems odd that because of memory management it would take a long time though. Other programs are very easy to switch between. I suppose there is a lot of information to save in RAM especially on the larger maps. Would there be a way to increase the amount of RAM available to the program if that was what was slowing it down? Thanks. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc

Hello. I was playing Gal Civ 2 and I got an IM message in Windows. Gal Civ 2 automatically got minimized and I went back to windows to see the message. When I clicked back on the application to bring it back up it goes to a black screen with the cursor. I can Alt-Tab between programs running and so on. The only way to get out is force quit Gal Civ 2 and start it up again. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks. <img src="smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 A

Hello. Thanks for making such a great game and supporting it with patches! I've played Gal Civ a lot and I'm looking forward to playing Gal Civ 2 even more! I have a suggestion however. Would it be possible in the options for automatic ship movement (like auto-explore and so on) to include an option for any colonize ship to automatically go out and colonize? On larger maps this might
