More powerfull defense ships in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I am new to the game and maybe this topic has been discussed before, but why not to use more powerfull defense ships? As far as I know the Battle Axe is best "pure" defense ship in the game (If I am not right, please tell me). Other ships have better attack/defense ratings, but the Battle Axe is the biggest thing with more defense than attack. I find the protection offered by Battle Axes insuficient later in the game, even with planetary defenses. Thanks!! LOL

I do not know if this is a bug or the correct game flow, but I found it rather strange so I would like to know: From time to time the universe enter a time of economic recession or economic advance, to be back to normal economic times a couple of turns after. Ok, but in my last game I saved and quited the game some turns after the economic recession started. OK, I think I will buy the game then. Arno Keiler, I do not think I am demandig, I am just not going to pay several times for the same thing. I got a bit worried when I saw the bonus pack was released at the same time that the game and I thought maybe the first one was free but all the rest where not. As long as they are free I am happy. I even would agree to pay a small (SMALL) subscription fee every year to get bonuspacks with new features (new features, but not bug fixes). T

OK, now I understand why the bonus pack has been released at the same time that the game. But what about my other question? Are all bunus packes going to be free? I really want to pay this game but I will only buy it if they all are going to be free. :CONGRAT:

This game looks great, but before I buy it I would like to know if all bonus packs, patches, etc. will be free, not just the first one. Please, some moderator or someone from Stardock answer my question. Besides, why a bonus pack so soon? Why is it not included with the game? Thanks!!! :d
