Doh, missed by 1 day! I don't recall the email :(

I just joined the founder's program! (Yeah took a while, financial reasons). Glad the link in email still worked! I've been saving that invite! I'm exited to be here! I love Star Control! So, are there any threads or tips on where to start and catch up? Guidelines? What to download from the vault or do first? Thanks!
WOW does pretty damn well in china... I think it has like 2 mil in us, 2 mil in china...
Where's the other 6 million? :) http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=17062 "According to Blizzard, WoW now hosts more than 2 million subscribers in Europe, more than 2.5 million in North America, and approximately 5.5 million in Asia." More like twice the USA subscriber numbers play in china :)
Is it really the Games For Windows thing? Because several games I know of that are certified GFW games have save folders uner My Games, Gears Of War is one that comes to mind right away (it stores under My Games\Gears of War for Windows), as well as Crysis. Edit: Hey look what I found, Per requirement 1.2, the main game and autorun executable must have the execution level of asInvoker to support Standard User conte
Oh my god, I'm SOOOOOO irritated that this game doesn't support 1280x720. It says it supports widescreen, and it does, but only a very limited set. Wake up to the 21st century Stardock.
The problems is not the maximum. Its the minimum. my 1920x1080 support IS 21st century support. You could make an argument that they aren't programming for the lower end HD, only the higher end :) But I think they should have made the minimum
Bumping this since I didn't see it on 1.02 patch notes :(
Perhaps the problem is that Sins does not support resolutions with less then 768 vertical pixels. Correct. Even if you can force the game to 1280x720, it would be messy (if it works at all). The resolution needs to be at least or more than 1024 wide, and 768 high. Simply having more total pixels won't cut it if one or the other dimension is less than the min. If you're on DVI-D (as opposed to analog-over-DVI) though y
Short answer: Its almost certainly because of Microsoft. Microsoft has a long list of things they require if a company is going to get the "Games for Windows" logo thingy. One of which is how and where your settings and savegames are stored. Companies are starting to try to adhere to these kinda things more so they work equally well on vista and XP. Longer technical answer: Partly because vista changes locations of a lot of things. Part of it is also security, since Vista suppo
Also, remember to click update before you try playing it. There's a 11 meg patch already for retail.
Yeah, your HD set is only 720p. The higher HD stuff is 1080p which is 1920x1080 resolution, which is higher than the 1280x720 of 720p stuff. Is it only the game that can't fit entirely on screen, how about normal Windows stuff like web browsing or email? If normal Windows isn't all on the screen, thats the TV's fault. If thats the case, the nvidia has a screen adjustment thing that you can slightly shrink it to fit on your TV screen. You may be able to do this even if its only the g
hmmm , seems ok for me...
Yes, but you probably are able to change modes whenever you like. I'm not. Would it have any negative effect on everyone who CAN change modes successfully to increase the timer and give them a few extra seconds they dont need to click ok? :) And
The timer for sins changing graphical options is too short. Its something like 5-10 seconds, and it would be great if it was closer to 30 seconds :) I have a fairly decent machine (AMD 4000+, 8800 GTS, 1 gig ram, XP SP2, 1920x1080 max details) and still sometimes when I change graphical settings (like just going to or from a window setting) it times out and changes me back since I wasn't able to click keep settings in time. I imagine lower end users would have this issue more often.<br/
Could you hot-seat multiplayer? Yes after a fashion, it involves using a cheat code to let you play an AI char, I dont know details but its been mentioned elsewhere.
I would wait to upgrade to vista So far the only reason I can think of to upgrade is: Halo 2 when it comes to PC will REQUIRE vista and will NOT run on XP (I dont have any plans to play halo 2 on PC, its been on xbox for a long time now, but if this is important to you, its a reason to upgrade) Reasons to wait on upgrading (at least for a little while): No new file system in Vista Extreme DRM, things such as requireing a new LCD monitor with HDMI/HDCP/DVI sup
So if I want to print one of these (or the dregnin one) poster size from say shutterfly (they sometiems have free poster coupons) and hang it in my room, is that ok with you stardock guys?
This is really great! Freeform rotation will be fun! BTW, freeform rotation is going to be an option right? Because if I wanted to have the exact rotation on hardpoints to maintain symmatry, a mandatory freeform hardpoint would make that kinda hard. And the freeform should probably be on a per hardpoint basis, so people can mix symmetry with freeform. Thanks guys!
You may want to put "Randomnize Intelligence Spread" (i.e. add the Spread word) so that its less confusing. My first take on seeing something titled "Randomize Intelligence" would be that I would get 100% random opponents from the worst to the best. Which some poeple would probably like, but its the behavior you described for that option BTW, I love galciv2. So much good stuff.
Frankly, spelling/grammer errors are the very LOWEST on my list of things I want them to do. Stat/description errors are just one of the things that I think are more important. For instance, a building that says it improves influence in one description but really improves diplomacy (Galactic Showcase) as per the other description and list of bonuses from that building. But this is a minor issue. It doesn't effect gameplay, and its clear what the
Bumping because the original hardpoint mistake I found hasn't been fixed in 1.0X.010 I have not checked the others.
Its also possible that that was one of the hardpoint mistakes, an example detailed here: https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=274&AID=102130 That one is still present after the 1.0X.010 patch. There's a thread that lists all of them, but I havne't checked them all to see if they have been fixed yet. But some hardpoints were definately reversed or pointed wrong ways. Trying again, hope this doesn't post 5 copies. It said w
Oops double post.
Bumping because this bug is actually still present with an additional twist in 1.0X.010 Details are in OP
Wow this is a GREAT list! I'm going to copy/paste the stuff (mostly typos but 1 glitch too) I've found and posted here: https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=274&AID=102108 I confirmed all of these present in 1.0X.010 after patching. I'm using windows XP pro, running the game full screen at 1024x768 resolution, same as my desktop which is set at 32 bit color. Running gal civ 2 ver 1.0X.010 Most o
I have a list of several typo's (and at least 1 glitch) here: https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=274&AID=102108 I'll copy and paste that post here. I'm using windows XP pro, running the game full screen at 1024x768 resolution, same as my desktop which is set at 32 bit color. Running gal civ 2 ver 1.0X.010 Most of these I'm not sure if they are mistakes in the stats on the item,
Bumping because all but one of these is still present in 1.0X.010 I edited the original post to reflect what was fixed.
