Maybe just sticking with one specific ship era would work better as GalCiv doesn't seem to have ship graphics upgrades as time progresses. It wouldn't feel right to have a Soverign class battleship with an NX-01 class explorer, right? Birth of the Federation had this same dilemma as MicroProse only and the TNG license, so they only used TNG ships. This is a little OT, but speaking of DS9, I've got the first two seasons on DVD now. I only got into the show in the 3rd season when the Dominion (and the Defiant) appeared on scene. Watching the first two seasons now just completes the overall picture of DS9's characters and locales. With all the political and moral dilemmas involved in DS9, it's a fitting tribute for it to be mentioned in GalCiv where politics and moral choices are at the heart of the game.
One of my colonies rebelled, wanting to be more like the Torians, leaving me with 2 colonies. My stats screen however still reported having 3 colonies. Not sure if this has been reported since there are so many posts and I've got a 56K line and no time. ;) T ~SDC~
If you can find it, the soundtrack to Star Trek 6: Undiscovered Country is the best. The whole movie was about politics (diplomacy, espionage, asassination, betrayal, incidents, accidents, and allegations ;)) all referring to the Cold War. The music really fit the movie, having a huge space epic orchestral sound and it fits GalCiv as well.
Aye, confirmed it with my local EB. Will head down tonight and pick it up.
