nVidia 2080 Ti “Initialisation Error: Unable to initialize graphics system. Graphics card not supported” in Star Control StarControl Forums

When I try to launch it I get the error “Initialisation Error: Unable to initialize graphics system. Graphics card not supported” I just bought Star Control for my Windows 10 PC with an nVidia 2080Ti graphics card, 64GB RAM. All drivers etc are up to date. What should I try next?
