Can someone test a fleet of this fragile battle craft and report results of said test? It would be an interesting early game type of thing (like Chopping became in Civ4)

I've had a bit of a problem with Starbases on Resources. I destroyed an enemy Starbase on a resource and then sent a contructor to that spot. Normally, I get a dialog asking if I want to mine this resource. In this case, I did not get the prompt and had to build a regular non-Mining Starbase. A number of factors could have influenced this bug... Possibly it was the fact that I built one space outside my range (I don't know how I could do that, but I could) or maybe the fact that a previous
