Actually, there are a lot of of Canadians on this site. Paxx, Caylynn, Alexandrie of course. A belated Thanksgiving to our Northern Neighbors (oh wait, parts of Michigan are actually north of Windsor, well our neighbors anyway) and happy days to all. Peace.

I have also written, respectfully and politely, to the moderator of their forums. Because of the work of the Rip Patrol and others in the community, many sites have taken down their rips. As I said before, this is a process of education. Many of these people have never skinned before and don't know the rules. We need to contact them and explain how our community works. Alexandrie, my friend, so many of your skins are coveted because of their beauty. It is a compliment that I know you wish no

Not to disagree with Paxx (oh no, never) but I don't hold with this half-stepping. Go to Windows XP for Convergence by Frogboy in Convergence. Or get .NET for DesktopX by The_Artist and see what XP may evolve into.

The only way that we will win this war is through education. Paxx, Crae, Frank all point out that they don't understand that they are doing something wrong. We get frustrated because to us, it is so obvious. But don't understand. The most effective thing that we can do is to write to the moderators and admins and ask them to adopt a policy about ripping. Don't assume that they know. Kenray wrote one a while ago. Send them a link to it. Peace.

Well, since BoXXi posted this link, I thought that this was a good time to add Where Oceans Are Born, Sliding Doors, Last Train to Starksville, Whirlpool, Ejaculation, Life? and a couple of others to my BoXXi collection. Thank you, Bryan, for creating beauty from the void.

The community MUST react to this. Ripping has always been a problem, but unless we band together, wholesale ripping is going to become fashionable. The Styles XP gang will show no respect. The title of this thread, "Rip Patrol" is a GOOD idea. Perhaps an email group. Someone sees a rip, they send out an alert and we all send emails to the ripper. Ricardo, you might want to mention that theft of intellectual property is a crime under international law. Just a thought.

Jafo, I grew up with much the same concerns about Uncle Sam helping to broaden my horizons by sending me to SE Asia. (BTW, did you hear that Country Joe McDonald is being sued for stealing the music to the Fish Cheer from some Jazz song? And its 1,2,3 what are fighting for..But I digress.) I was a big S/F fan as well, and my intellectual discussions centered on future social interactions. It seemed a given that man would go faster than light and travel to other stars. But what would life be LIKE

Just over nine months ago I started working at Stardock and I was introduced to this great community of our. This is my way of saying "Thanks!" to everyone I have met on this long strange trip. I was first introduced to skinning with WinAmp. I remember looking at my buddy Lewis Colon's (hey, a shout out to Mr. Fix-It!) WinAmp and wondering why it looked different than mine. He explained. That night I fired up the old 33.6 and started in a-downloadin'. Sometime later, I tried WindowB

For advice on Windows Media Player skinning, I would go to The Skins Factory. They have composed some the most beautiful. You can visit their site at http://www.theskinsfactory.com or contact Jeff at [email protected] They should be able to help. It sounds as though we could all use a proggie to make the skinning more friendly. Might have to check if Microsoft has an SDK for it.

Very pretty site. Thanks for bringing it up. They show a screenshot of the Infamous DesktopX theme. Anybody know where that can be downloaded?

Citizen Razorborg, any reference to your children was made in haste and was not meant to be hurtful. I am sure that your little girls are lovely and that you work hard to be the best daddy that you can. Jafo is as kind a human as you are likely to meet anywhere. We are all feeling a little defensive these days. Add to that his being from Australia and walking around upside down all the time with the blood flowing to his head, and, well I am sure that you can understand. Wincustomize is a goo

David, ESP is really a pretty mellow skin. Traffic is a little loud for my tastes, but I thought that it displays a GREAT sense of humor. Really made me smile. Are you planning on doing any skins optimized for XP? I am running XP Wood at home, and Forest XP at work and I have really developed a taste for them. As to the number of battles going on, I just posted a thread called War Of Words. It is not just our community that is tense. The attack on the WTC, the attacks against Afganistan

Is it just me, or are people all over the world deliberately choosing the most provocative, inflammatory words possible? Have these choices somehow been effected by the events of September 11th? The recent post calling Frogboy a Nazi, for example. No one really believes that His Wartiness is really a Nazi. This word was chosen purely out of anger and to inflame others. My initial reaction was that calling someone a Nazi for censoring a post trivialized the events of WWII. It made me angry!

Ghostman, let me clarify. Aussies have always been willing to risk their lives to do what is right. During WWII, Australia's 20,000 Thieves held off Rommel in the desert without benefit of air or armor support, until the 8th Army and the Americans were able to relieve them. No question of their courage. Specifically, I questioned Syria, Libya and the Palestinian States willingness to oppose terrorism. Without these countries, the war will be prolonged. With their support, Bin Laden can b

Martin, you have focused in on a very important point. The support of other countries is going to be crucial to not only the success or failure of the war against terrorism, but also to whether the violence continues. First, every American should thank our British brethren. The Brits have truly been our friends in a time of need. Also, closer to home, the Canadians who have been there for us. The world should also reflect on the bravery of the government of Pakistan, who must live with their

By 3 PM, the Pentagon reported that 50 Tomahawk missiles had been fired, joined by 40 bomber and fighter aircraft that targeted sites around several Afghan cities. The targets were essentially strategic sites, chosen to cripple the Taliban's airpower. Many US allies, including Israel, defended the United States actions. British Prime Minister Tony Blair told his nation that the Taliban had been “given the choice of siding with justice or siding with terror, and they chose to side with terror

I hope that everyone reading this is using an anto-virus program. If you are not, you can get McAfee anti-virus right from the Wincustomize link. You owe it to yourself and everyone that you e-mail with and work with, to protect your files.

Here is a site about about the Arab-Israeli conflict from a Jewish, humanitarian point of view- http://www.eretzyisroel.org/~jkatz/ Rabbi Katz point of view is not completely unbiased, but please read his dedication at the bottom. Please note that Arafat and the PLO were thrown out of Jordan and Lebanon more recently than Eretiz Yisroel.

For quite some time, so-called legitimate governments have allowed terrorists to openly operate from within their borders. The Taliban are able to easily find and catch UN workers accussed of teaching Christian beliefs, but can't find proof that Bin Laden operates a terrorist organization. This is no longer acceptable. The Sudan, Iraq, Iran, Afganistan and any other country that will not accept the responsibilities of sovereign status, will lose the benefits of sovereign status. They cannot h
