I've played EVE for 3 years. When people say it lacks content, they mean it lacks developer created content. There is a lot of content outside of Empire with player formed alliances forming going to war, betraying each other etc. EVE is very much like GalCiv played out in an MMO. It is very tough to get started in EVE and I think a lot of players may not stay long enough to experience some of the real fun.

?? How is avoiding getting demands an exploit. That is a valid tactic and a clever one I've never thought to use. I'm curious as to how broad your definition of 'exploit' is. Seems there is some grand order of gameplay you are required to follow, otherwise it's an exploit.

Well I always give in to demands for cheese. There usually quite reasonable when you consider you have zero military at that point and as they like to point out, they could crush you like a bug. This is the same strategy I use and it does make it quite easy. I've been playing on tough with a medium sized galaxy and am now going to have to ramp up the difficulty. The computer AI can't compete with a human influence/tech broker I usually only have to forcefully invade 1 or 2 opponents the rest will ally up quickly for an easy win.
