Yes, it is difficult. In the the All Programs section, the Modern UI Applications has no properties (so no path is noted as in other folders within All Programs). Using the program "Search Everywhere", I'm not able to find a folder with the Modern UI App... name. So, I'm not able to get that folder as a shortcut on the right-side of the Start Menu. I've created a few right-side shortcuts and am familiar with how to add a location. I just can't fin

Thanks Neil: You were correct as to what was causing my problem with trying to open an app from the Windows Start Page and it opening up in the desktop. I followed your advice and things are working fine now. With respect to the first part of my original question; can I access Windows Apps from my desktop via Start8 without changing the style of my start menu? I'm currently running Windows 7 style. It would be nice if I had a right-hand side shortc

Hi: I'm a very happy Start8 user and read a couple of great reviews about ModernMix. Install went OK. I run a Windows 7 style Start8, and I'm not sure of the correct procedure to select a Windows app to start on the Desktop. So I searched "USA" and USA Today (a Windows Start Menu app) came up and loaded in a desktop windows as advertised. Everything seems to work fine.
