Hello, I am finding that I can no longer sort my desktop icons after installing the basic fences program. I am not trying to sort the icons inside of my fences like the pro version allows me to do. I'm just looking for the functionality that was originally built into windows. Any suggestions? Kball, You already sent off the drive? Fences never ever deletes files. So the folders must still be present. If you click on Start, Computer, then Desktop, do the folders appear in the list? Zargon
I've the same problem of Zargon, and I installed fresh digital. Unlike some other guys, I didn't have this problem from the beginning, but only from the "p" subversion patch.
Do you have it every update? Can you please tell me if you see it tomorrow on the latest update? Zargon
Harpo, Pre Step 1, did you install from: 1) DVD 2) Restore from Archive 3) Download fresh digital ? Kirk
hey guys, are you working on a fix for the having to downgrade to the non-beta then back up to the current beta version to avoid a 1.9 gig update? Also, I always try and post saved games, error logs, custom sov. files, crashes, screen shots etc but I feel like I'm being ignored when I post bugs, nothing is ever done about them.
[quot
Karma, What program are you using to sync your Google contacts? Are you paying for Google Apps Sync? Zargon
We do still intend to release skinning for Fences. Currently we are working on releasing ObjectDock 2, so that will come first. Fences skinning is on our list. Zargon
Are you using a program like Ultramon? Maybe the snapshot of the desktop is multi-mon? Zargon
Check to see if you added Fences to the startup folder. It should not do that.
We will also be supplying a standalone installer soon for Fences Pro. Zargon
This is a known issue with Fences. This is fixed in version 1.0.2 and above. Also, when Fences is turned on the sorting changes for the desktop slightly in that folders are included in the sort (Windows usually sorts folders out of the order) so that will slightly change the way desktop icons are sorted as well. What are you trying to sort by? Zargon
Did that resolve the issue for you? Zargon
This is fixed in the latest Fences Pro 1.0.1
What happens if you delete the icon from the desktop then have Steam recreate them?
Please tell us the application you are saving the file from and the steps to reproduce.
Please download it from here: http://www.delldock.com There is no reason it should not run, did you uninstall before you reinstalled? Zargon
Aredhel, You should not need internet to run Fences after first activation. Are you saying after first activation it still fails with no internet access? Zargon
As a follow-up I was able to run Fences on Windows 7 64-bit with EarthDesk.
Hi, This is a serious problem. One of the design goals of Fences is that no icons will be lost. Can you please tell me the steps you use to reproduce the issue? Can you please send me a screen shot of your desktop? If possible could you record a video of this happening with JING? Thank you for your help. Zargon
This does not sound like a Fences bug, have you tried uninstalling Fences? Does the problem go away? Zargon
We will be releasing Fences Pro v1.1 sometime this month. Zargon
Thank you for these suggestions! We are putting together a Fences 1.1 wish list and I will make sure your items are up for consideration. Zargon
Mark, What OS are you running (example: Windows XP 32-bit)? We would like to try to reproduce this issue. Zargon
I am happy to report that this feature will be something you can toggle in Fences 1.0.1.270 which will be released this month.
This is usually indicative of a hardware issue. Please see this post for troubleshooting. https://forums.stardock.com/387255
