Litestep mainly, but playing around with DesktopX to see if it can be a worthy addition to my shell. If LS would've had alpha blending it would've been far superior to anything else.

Now this is exciting . That would make it easy to modify the graphics for one's personal needs (e.g obscure programs noone else uses etc..). You'd make me very happy, and if somebody then converted them to .PSD I'd be even happier

I understand that it is a very radical shift from now and therefore impossible to carry on on this site. But I do think that if a large site like WC started an alternative site with the cell system it would get more skinners to join that site. Because something has to be done, the classical way of skinhosting is a path that leads straight to the death of the site.

On bandwidth and existance in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

During the past days we have experienced unbearable performance due to the arrival of new people on this site. The heavy traffic requires a lot of bandwidth which I imagine is very costly. Since the people running this site isn't multi-billionaires we must strive to reduce the traffic, we wouldn't want this site to end up dead like many other sites have done lately. I think these limitations (only members can download, smaller screenshots etc) is a good short term solution but for a lasting

How about limiting the access of the site, making it less attractive to those who just download? Say you have to become a member to use the sites services and put a limit on how many skins (or mbs)you may download per month. I think that will reduce the number of non-contributing bandwidth eaters. Is there anyone who agree with me?

I would like to see this site stay up for a long time and not disappeared due to heavy traffic = too high bandwidth costs. Therefore to reduce the number of people just downloading and not contributing I suggest that everyone has to register to get permission to use the site and that there will be a limit on how many megs you can dl each month. just my own humble opinion...
