JMB1984: thanx!! now why didn't anyone else tell me that? this is great! now i'll definitely be using the flyout menus. i love it.
Nice video. This is excellent. When you do the video though it really makes me think of a few things that I wish OD Plus had when I use it. 1) I like the fly out menus but I wish I could doubleclick a folder and that folder would open. Sometimes I don't want to keep drilling down deeper and deeper in folders. I just want a quick way to open a folder one, two or three layers deep. During your video you coudl see the same thing happen when you were looking ta pictures and maybe you j
i uninstalled and reinstalled and the overlays are there now. the only problem that remains is that now the overlay forces some of my objects to snap to the edges. i have some simple text obects for time, dat eand uptime and if i move them anywhere near the top or bottom of my screen i can't position them exactly wher ei want them but instead they snap up or down despite the object settings. >
i just upgraded to DX v2.2 via SDC and there's no tab for the overlay feature. it was in the betas but after i read this article i went to use the feature and realized that the tab was gone.
I want to uninstall SDC and do a clean install. When I try to uninstall through Add/Remove or Unwise it says that it cannot find the install.log. I've searched my drives but haven't found anything. How can I uninstall this thing? It's really driving me nuts.
i found that this only happens w/a few skins. i liked one skin a lot but it was giving me this problem. once i changed skins everything was fine. it may have to do w/the way the skin is made.
i've backed down to dx v2.10 and everything works fine. i can move my objects all over, no snapping to a grid and it works perfectly. i don't get the new features of the beta though.
Simple Tome = Simple Time
I have installed some of the latest DX betas so I can try some of the new functionality. Unfortunately, it's completely screwed up all of my objects. I have a real simple setup and I'm using Simple Tome(https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=3&SkinID=3341) and a few other text based objects w/a nice shadow and some transparency and the latest versions make these objects snap to grid. I can't move them easily on my desktop and choose EXACTLY where I want to place them. Instead, when I
there's tons of stuff in sp2 you may already have(cummulative security fixes) or don't even have to have(the new firewall features...you may be using ZA or some other personal firewall). i'm the opposite of an earlier adopter. i'll let everyone else be my guinea pig and see how it effects their systems. if it screws up their systems then i'll know how to prevent it from happening to mine.
Essencay - you got exactly what I mean. I've been trying out the tabs you've uploaded but for some reason they aren't quite as transparent as I would like. Would you mind posting your EXACT settings? When I've used your tabs I want them to have almost 100% transparency so I can only see the outline of the tab. BTW, great work and thanx for uploading them! My thought was that I could put t
I'd like ot have my tabs hidden until I hit a hotspot. I want them completely hidden the same way that I can hide the task bar. When I need access to them then I want to move my mouse to a side of my desktop and have them pop up. Is this currently an option or will the feature be added?
i don't have iconX loaded. i'm moving objects and not moving icons around. the objects im moving are the weather objects and simple uptime and time objects. when i move them near the bottom or top of my monitor they are snapping to the edges. btw, i've triple checked and align to grid is not checked so i'm certain it's not that. when i go back to a previous version of DX everything works fine.
I installed the last couple DesktopX betas and I using the latest DesktopX beta(2.19[b].002). The problem I have is that I can't freely move my objects around my desktop. Instead, they snap to a grid. I've checked the properties for each object and the relation tab under movement is set to normal. Adjust position is set to automatic. Is there a new feature somewhere that I need to change to stop this from happening? It's driving me nuts!! ><img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smile
Brad: I'm wondering if you took my comments in your previous post to heart. What I typed and this post are very similar! "BTW, my pizza at Poppa John's costs $15. A movie is $10. The pizza is gone in about 30 minutes and your movie is over in less than 2 hours. For $15 you can get a bunch of Stardock apps that last you years and it's something you are using ON A DAILY BASIS.
Thanx for the detailed reply! So let me run a scenario past you. If I don't renew my ODNT subscription a year from now can I still use SDC to install older versions? 1.5yrs from now can I install SDC on a newly built machine, choose the restore option and then point it at an older version that is backed up? I'm just wondering, if I buy DesktopX by itself I will get a link to the DesktopX installer file. I'd prefer to just have that EXE installer file. <img src="http://images.stardo
I want to make sure that the Stardock applications I use often are backed up. I have ODNT and use Stardock Central to download and isntall the apps I use - WB, DesktopX, Keyboard Launcher and sometimes Icon Packager. I noticed that when new versions are installed the previous version is archived by default in \Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\BACKUP. However, these aren't "installers." What I'd like to do if for some reason I need to recover the applications is just run the installer for DX,
Hey guys, I just want to say that the products you release are fun, look good and help to improve my usability experience. I've been considering purchasing ODNT for quite a while since I purchased WB and really like that. I have a few questions abou the pricing plan b/c the whole thing confuses me. I basically want a few apps - WB, Keyboard Launchpad, DesktopX(I don't like that IconX will be broken out of that) and possibly ObjectDock +. I
