Can someone help? I installed Ultimate on my new laptop. I've been playing GalCiv2 for a few weeks now. It runs beautifully. However, I haven't had a mega event yet. Not one. I have the option checked. Any ideas? I have cheats enabled so I can make a mega event using control + y. Anyone know why there simply haven't been any? It's literally been 24-36 hours of game time. Can anyone advise? I've been using the map editor for years. I've noticed I can't get the different types of planets when playing a game on a created map. I can not get any of the different looking non habitable planets such as the blue looking gas giants, or the different colored planets. I'm still trying to find a hard copy of either Twilight, or the Ultimate Edition. I've found 2 possibilities overseas. One seller has something called "Space Unlimited Compilation" which includes Galciv2 Ultimate and Sins of a Solar Empire. Will this work on a computer in America? I know DVDs are region coded. Is it the same way with PC games on CDs? Also, will the British "Endless Universe" play here, and what exactly is it? Thanks
If I want to make a hard copy of GCII, can I copy the entire file into a flashdrive? In case of an emergency, will that work? Will the game be playable by copying it from the hard drive back to a computer? Thanks.
If I edit the Korath to use Drengin pics, colors and names, and put them in the slots of opponents at game start...will the computer use them as the Drengin? It's for a custom map, so I can put "Korath" over the desired homeworld if you think that might work. This would keep them from becoming a "custom" civ since I use my own, correct?
Is there any way to change the AIs Super Abilities? I want to play a game where the Drengin use the Super Annihilator ability with the Spore Ships. I don't want the Korath in this particular game. I've tried to edit them, in the initial setup, but Super Ability doesn't seem to change.
When you say size, do you mean PQ, or population? Population makes sense to me actually. More people to "trade" with?
Does the module distinguish between manufacturing and research? Or does the bonus apply to both?
Are the modules designated for production or research? Are there separate modules for each? Does an Orbital Replicator add 10% to both production/manufacturing and research? If not, what do we add to boost research?
Does the planet you send the freighter out from have anything to do with the value of the route? I know the distance, and I believe the target world affect the total route value. In other words, do I want to send a freighter out from my best production worlds, or my best econ worlds. I specialize, so my econ worlds have all stock markets on them. They have no social production. Thanks.

Question: Do starbase bonuses help economic improvements on the planet in their radius the same way they boost production and research? If I have an all stock market world, does a maxed out starbase next to it boost its output? I'm asking because I have recently read a few posts that seem to say the bonuses only apply to production and research.

That's interesting. I always assumed the event would happen anyway after reloading. Do you find the random events change when you go back to the previous save?
I tend to agree that the JK could be a great major event. It could add a lot to the game in question. However, in reality, it tilts the game way too far in our direction. So, my solution has been to "cheat." Since the JK event does nothing to help the current game, imo, I turn it into something that does. I always play with cheats on. Not to help myself, but to make the game better. For example, I occasionally hit the cheat to play as another race...
Ok, I heard an ad on ESPN radio yesterday. Its for "gotomypc.com." You buy this app, load it on your main computer, then access the website from your smart phone, IPad, Kindle , etc. and you run your actual computer from remote. According to the website, it will run ANY program installed from your computer as it is simply a relay device. Using this, we can access GalCiv2 from anywhere. I am going to try this when I get my Kindle for Christmas. Any comments?

Hi folks, my wife is going to get me a Kindle Fire for Christmas. Can I load and play Gal Civ 2 on either device? I've been told they are basically a mini computer. I don't want to go for a $400 IPad, so at $150-$200, a Kindle Fire HD looks like the best bet. The key is...can I use it for Gal Civ 2? Thanks to anyone who answers.
I purchased and registered Galciv and the two expansions. They both appear under my account. My computer crashed over the weekend. My question is, can I download the games, and expansions, to my next computer... or do I have to purchase it again? I do not have the cds. Thanks.
Can anyone suggest a way to disable the message that appears under your starbases? I would prefer a more realistic look to my galaxy. Seeing "4 modules available" under a starbase Ive chosen to minimize is annoying. Anyone have a suggestion?
