I am unsure of how to proceed in my new game. Do I colonize any planet thats available or do i wait until I find good quality planets (eg.,PC 8+)? If I do choose quality, what is the minimum planet class I should colonize?

I typically like to trade techs for techs that will take me longer than 8 weeks to complete...my problem is that when I am in the diplomacy screen I can’t remember which techs will take the longest time to develop so I have to go back to my tech screen and write this info out. As you can imagine that is a lot of note taking when you have 8 civs to trade with and you don't know what they h

Been playing the game for a week now and in my latest game I have five planets colonized after a colony rush. These planets range from 5 to 8 class. What I am finding a bit overwhelming is what and when to build on the colonies. I take advantage of any bonus squares but after that I seem to build in response to needs. E.g. if my population is low I build the recruitment center if the planet has a lot of income I build an economic building. Also some of my planets don’t have nay bu

How do you folks go about exploring the galaxy in an efficient and quick manner? I typically send out my "mother ship" to get anomalies but it gets sucked into wormholes and is all over the place...don't mind as its picking up stuff anyway. I build colony ships and use them to explore...I typically do this manually. But it seems pretty slow. I am playing on the large map.
In Twilight, at least, there is a Summary button near the bottom right of the planetary improvement screen. Press it and you'll get a summary of what each of your improvements is doing and the total mp, tp, food, bonuses, etc.
Was that in the manual? just discovered that yesterday night!! Thanks.

I created a bunch of ships tiny, small and medium in the ship designer and saved them. I only used the hull and extras no armor etc I can't find these ships in my saved game ship designer. Do I need to start a new game to use my own designs? Do i need to add the modules as I design the ships or can I add the modules during the game as they become available?

You will find it there under "Abilities".
Actually what I was wanting to know is if I can just stop researching a certain branch altogether. E.g., if i wanted to stop research in basic logistics could I do that?
3. You mean change wha
