Running latest version of TA as updated through impulse. Recently was in a war with the Drath who use beam weaponry. I updated my ship designs to use shields to compensate. We eventually agreed on a ceasefire, but a few turns later the Yor declared war on me. Not having time to rebuild/redesign my fleets I sent them into battle against the Yor who use missile weapons. Shields are offtype defense but should still roll as the square root correct? I am getting no shield
