I've never seen them before 2234. In DA usually there's a big announcement when they arrive. I'll just go with a couple of transports and mass-drive their planet. Dread Lords become dead lords. [e digicons]x_x[/e] Of course, I don't play the campaign. You'll usually have time to take them out. Build your planetary invasion techs, or use a lot of transports if you don't have the techs.

Custom made EW ships. The sensors on my ships have a range of 15, they're lightly armed, and they're fast. Even so, I'll generally have to take back a few worlds, but the Korath will lose 60 spore ships doing it. '2) Have a tiny ship with one weapon in orbit of each planet. ' I've come across armed spore ships in my games, so this tactic doesn't always work. One had an attack strength of 51.

About 400 colonies before I scored a tech victory in DA 1200 ships, mostly medium and larger Strategy: Research Medium Hulls and Miniaturization ASAP. Concentrate on Influence. Be the big dog and the Korath, Drengin and Yor will be your pals no matter your alignment, at least until it's too late for them. Trade your obsolete ships for their influence points, then let them hammer each other with them.... that one NEVER gets old. [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicon

Whenever the Thalans show up in a game I know I'll be at war with them, either because they colonise half the board or they're tossing thousands of their marshmallow spaceships at me. I hate them, but they make decent neighbors once they're pruned back and taught to behave, plus there's all that real estate I didn't have to develop. Mass drivers help to lower the factory count and more useful things are built. The Korath are more of a problem. The Yor usual

Late Game it's better to back up and delete them. This happened to me, and fighting ships with 1500 point shields was not a pleasant prospect. I had them show up in 2232 however, just after I'd got Large Hulls but before I'd built any, they bossed the board and pulverized my neighbors before my ships showed up to kill them. Most of the time I just had to sit in port, waiting for them. It was fun. [e digicons]}:)[/e]

I've had it happen in DA as well, about once every 12 games. When there's a draw, the defender wins.
