Because I am still relatively new to the ship builder, I have yet to master it's capabilities. But I will query if it is possible to make a part of the ship to "spin" of sorts (one of my classic additions to my exploration ships are a couple of pylons and a dish at the top), so I would love to make said dish "spin" as if it's gathering a 360 degree sensor data. True. But in the ever struggle of design balance, where one must consider the applicable Speed, applicable range, etc, are put into consideration, the Penguin class is fine. Weapons and Defenses wise are supposed to be adaptive to situations yes, so therefore, it's fighting capability is not in question, but rather, it's role, and how it does it.
Although I am relatively new here, I've seen my days worth of over the top, unpractical, trillions of credits worth, kilometer long and 10 million tonnes fat ships, I haven't seen a lot of actually practical ships.
