[quote](I gave them like 30 medium fighters with pretty advanced def and attack -capabilities). The drengin started to "upgrade" almost every ship they could afford of the new fighters (wich is insane since they didnt have any of my weaponpower or defence..so techincally the downgraded them....alot). The few ships left witch they didnt downgrade just got "forgotten" and didnt move from where i gave them away. Then i thought HMMM...I then build a bigger fleet for them, like 40-50 even better shi

You're forgetting something.... Economics From what I've seen, the AI puts priority on defense when it is being attacked. So like you have said if you give them a nice super shiny ship of high power they will send it right home. If you give them two.. they will send one right home.. and may use the other to attack stuff. If you give them three, they will likely SELL one of them... Economics plays a HUGE part of the game and depending on what the setting th

If I were to make stats for such skills... perhaps make it so each person of population creates some additional level of research/production/$$ per thing researched... but make it have some major detriments as well... like upkeep increases or worlds being more likely to revolt if moral decreases. Communist countries historically have more problems keeping their people happy and working than non-communist countries.
Given that they are supposed to be communist, it makes sense to never have star republic dem, and Fed.. as that is rather a contrary view of gov. BUT it would be nice to be able to research socialism or the great commune or something of that nature that gives major economic and production bonuses similar to what the "representative forms of gov give. just a thought
I agree.. but the area that the techs seem the most broken is in the weapon trees. They are simply way too short. it is four researches to go from a weapon damage 2 weapon to black hole guns. something is wrong about that.... really
I realize that this is a beta and that since some of the weapons seem to indicate that there are weapons in the research chain missing that they may be added back in but it strikes me that in the current state of the beta the lack of length in the weapons research and sudden JUMPS in weapon power can make the game very easily broken. I find it much too easy to research maxed out weapons even in difficult or slow research games. back when there were three or four so additional steps in
