The main reason for not fixing ToA is said to be that the source code (or more specifically its environment) is outdated.

I am a bit lost on map- wise where we are. Personally I can live without the combat result screen for each battle - as long as they are so one sided. Maybe fewer in combat screenshots too. There is no need to write that the Torians built a Hyperion Shrinker and add a screenshot showing just that. My two cents, but I am just one reader.
[quote who="starkers" reply="69" id="3492352"] Of the people I know who so-say hate Win 8 - or at least don't like it - most have never tried it and have based their opinion on negative press in magazine/newsparer articles, etc, or have been told by somebody who read such an article that it's crap. Thing is, when I've given some of those naysayers an opportunity to use/see Win 8 in action, they were pleasantly su
I would like to see a Windows for PC and for computer programs. But I have not much hope. I should go for a few weeks training on the OS, switch to a new email (that is trendy enough for the emailing program to accept as an account) live with that Microsoft uses my outgoing communication to advertise its ashamedly poor product and so on.
Emm, could you please specify which game and which campaign? (If you launch Twilight of Arnor, you can play all three campaigns, but the Dreadlords campaign becomes very hard due to the changed combat mechanics.) The campaigns in Galactic Civilizations are NOT to teach you the game, but to allow you to follow the history of this fictional universe, when civilizations had their hardest times. For the campaigns forget 'fair chance'. Apart from the videos (that you should watch),
Sorry for the late reply, please continue it.
Humans are so nice and young that everybody tries to help them.
Yes, it is normal for the Dread Lords to build up the planet with full factories. If your 12 small ships could win against their defense, you were lucky, it should have been much harder to deserve the prize that is their planet. I think you were struck by the jagged knife (mega) event. This is designed to basically turn over the table within the game. As a minor nation they completely ignore your influence and will never flip.
Doeas anyone have an idea, how long it takes for uploaded files to (be checked and) actually appear in the Library?

Influence related technologies influence starbases (and modules) and population numbers. Well, or military force to liberate their worlds from the brainwashing propaganda of their state.
Will it (I mean the final GC3) be sold exclusively via Steam? When I try to play one of my few Steam games, I am welcomed by the Steam update. While waiting for it to complete I usually lose the interest to actually play. Then Steam forces me to re- login, kindly forgeting my password (for sure in my defense) that I have to dig up. Once logged in I am invaded by the great offers of the day. Then I can (could) start the game I paid for.

You really need massive diplomacy. With it you can sell 999 IPs for low level techs ... and 1000+ IPs. :-)
I have never checked myself but as I heard their civ wide abilities will continuously increase.
In your Documents/MyGames/GC2TwilightArnor do you have a Prefs config file? It should have a line starting with ModsDir.
On the main map the borders are marked with the color of the empire. If you cannot see the circle around your planet (or mining base) then it is within the influental border of an other empire. Also next to the minimap there is an ownership icon (three circles).
A completed one? Yes.
