I recently purchased the GalCiv2 Ultimate Edition and have not been able to launch the game. The issue is the same as the OP and I've read through the thread. It seems that the solution of editting the prefs.ini file could do the trick, however I do not have a prefs.ini file. Probably because I have yet to succsussfully launch the game? There is no debug.err file either, possibly because I have to end to game through the task manager? I did try creating a text file in the same folder
