I never play AGAINST the humans so I must be missing some interesting pickup lines

Foreign Relations: Relations Tab: Speak and when you see the trade options like "Attack" treaty, Peace Treaty, "Make Peace" the word "Alliance" should show up and only show up when it is appropriate and okay to attempt an alliance with a race. Considering that all depends on your relations with that race. I'm not sure though whether the Alliance tech is a trigger for this though.

Oh, and Pirvateer only protects the route, not the freighter Then I suppose it has met it's purpose the way it was meant to be. It did in the description say it was to protect your trade routes. Meaning they shouldn't be destroyed by continuas bombardment / destruction of freighters? Hmm.

You have to trade with them, and be Friendly/Close with the race you want to ally with. After that it's all a matter on how much you both like eachother Then wham you've married your race with another lol ^_^

How many races are you playing? If you're playing all 9 races including yourself on a tiny, large, huge map it's most likely going to be unfair sometimes. But on a gigantic when I'm playing max races I don't really have a problem. Also try abundant star setting; it might help

They were beaten and abused BY the Drengin. Nothing like a form of Child Abuse to grow cold
