I personally don't think GalCiv2 would work well with the current mechanic as a multiplayer game. In order for it to be a multiplayer game, turns would need to be simultaneous, which would require reworking unit movement in some fashion. I wouldn't want it handled the same way Civ5 is handled where unit movement is processed by whoever clicks the fastest. The best example I can give as far how simultaneous movement should work would be Conquest of the New World. Turns

Deadlock 2 did a fine job of being turned based multiplayer (but failed in other areas, like single player campaign and AI that worked). The trick is to build a game that gets to the point, quickly. This game doesn't have this problem, but games like Civ V have frequent down times where you have nothing to do but wait. There should rarely be a turn where you literally do nothing.
