Hey everyone, I am unable to change the graphics settings for Galactic Civilizations 3, which I have upgraded to Retribution. The remain at low both during the same game and after I close out and reopen the game. I have an Nvidia GeForce GT 645M graphics card, i7 processor, and 8 gigs of ram I have done some searching and tried the solutions I found. I have deleted the preferences.ini file in the game directory, tried to change

Heh. Give em hell.
I'll just update this in case anyone else wants to enjoy playing a precursor fleet. I now can spawn it consistently using gal civ 2 ultimate edition. It's just SHIFT-T. I was getting confused because it takes a few seconds to spawn the fleet so I would continue pushing other keys. The fleet spawns centered around where your mouse cursor is on the galactic map. I hope this gives at least one other person some extra fun from this awesome game.
Experimentation works. But I cannot get it consistently. By holding down shift and then pressing one of the top row letters I can get the fleet to spawn, but I cannot get it to do so consistently. I can get it to happen by holding shift and then pressing each key multiple times until finally a fleet does spawn. AFter that fleet does, holding SHIFT-T seems to clone it, so you can give yourself a ridiculously massive and honestly non-fun arnorian fleet. Ag
I have the ultimate edition of Galactic Civilizations 2. I understand how the cheats work and have been able to activate them in my game to increase my enjoyment. My question is in doing a quick search for cheat codes one day I came across one and only one website that listed a code to spawn a precursor fleet. I know the code is legitimate because it worked, but I have not been able to find that website again and can't remember the keys to press to enable the cheat.
Well, I don't really have a connection strong enough to allow online gaming, so I just enjoy the AI as something to play against. Thanks for the reply all. Sorry it took me so long to respond.
A very noob question I fear. I occasionally play SINS against the AI and enjoy it a great deal. Sometimes just for fun I'll switch teams when loading a saved game to play as the other side for a while. My question is, when you switch which team you manually control, does the AI efficiently take over the other side? As in producing ships, mounting attacks, that sort of thing? Or does it basically become "static"? as in not making any new further ships, d
I'm... REALLY... dumb. I thought I was playing trinity, but after clicking it, at the next menu screen I now realize I clicked "Play SINS". i'M certain at that point I was no longer playing trinity. AFter doing it correctly it works fine. Thanks for...... not......... gently point out how dumb I was :) No more problems here. For now.
Really dumb question here I am sure. I was just able to start playing SINS again on my new windows 7. I have SINS trinity, and I just updated today to 1.32. I notice when I go to create a game in single player the AI only goes up to Unfair. Now, I'm only a novice and am not desiring to play anything above hard for a long while, but I clearly recall when I had this same disc installed on my previous windows it had the higher AI levels. I'm
Well, I haven't overclocked or messed with the empire tree yet, but after downloading the beta patch and TSOP I currently have a medium map with four vicious AIs and my game has gone from unplayable with lag spikes and stuttering to only slighty choppy even during large battle scenes. I am grateful for all the advice, and now I can actually enjoy the game for more than an hour. thanks all for the ideas.
Thanks for the replies. I'll give the game tweaks a try. I don't really know what it means to squeeze all the juice out of a single core than I can though.
Greetings all. I am new to SINS, having picked it up in the store a few weeks ago. My play is basically focused on single player, so that is the direction my question comes from. I hope I'm posting in the right place. I am a fan of large scale games, so when I started it up I chose a large map with two allies and two enemies so I could get a feel for what the game is like. For the first hour of play it was enjoyable and smooth, and I then began having signifcan
