Nocticulus that was exactly the kind of answer I was looking for. Thanks very much. But I'm no longer playing that setup. I'm in this weird limbo where I'm trying scenarios to learn the game, but as I learn the game I get better and an experiment usually turns into a serious game. Right now I'm on the largest map in DL as Terran with 9 normal opponents and very few habitable planets. I only want to manage a handfull of planets for now. But as it is now a military victory is taking the
This is my last comment on this subject. I really come here because I like the game tips and I always get sidetracked by these political discussions. But here's the bottom line. Frogboy you're wearing too many hats . And your troubles are no different than the sole proprietor who had to get his license by studying crap he never uses and has to have insurance in case he accidentally burns down his customer's house and who has to hire a CPA to do his taxes and who spends hi
What about reservists? What about old people? What about people called for jury duty? I believe you're living in a fantasy world where positions are filled by perfect people. If a single corporation is brought to it's knees by the loss of an employee then the employee is not the problem. I bet you get all the girls...[e digicons]:)[/e] .
Well I'm getting there (on normal). I'm 3 years into 9 opponents on largest map and am in second place as Terran. I'm holding steady at 50% popularity squeezing money out of the peeps. We'll see where it gets me. I could probably be in first if I built more military but I'm stockpiling constructors for now.
Equating patent protection practices with tort-reform is misguided. And tort is touted as a benefit to the public when in reality it has not reduced healthcare costs: http://www.rwjf.org/pr/product.jsp?id=36768 FB I love your products but your post sounds like a rant by a burnout.
What are some examples of these regulations that drive costs? I'll remind you that Phillip Morris pushed very hard for tobacco regulation because they were big enough that it would hurt their competition.
When the AI threats it's a precursor to an attack. Whereas my civ has to skip a step and just attack without getting caught up in a long series of turns to affect a situation. Have I described it properly? Or maybe I'm missing apoint that the AI will only build around one of *my* stars if he doesn't feel threatened? Huh?
Now that I've had some time to read up I see the Precurser Ranger hasn't been without controversy.
So I'm finishing my third full game tonight and it's very easy. I'm taking a step-by-step approach to learning Dread Lords. And I'm poking along half paying attention and rolling over the enemy then BAM! Korx decide they're gonna roll out a Precurser Ranger that they just happened to find??? With 24 Mass Driver 16 Armor and 60 HP? And my most powerful ship has 2 damage and no shields??? lol I busted out laughing. Very sneaky! Then after amassing a huge fleet
Excellent thread.
1) Be advised, there is a limit on the number of techs that can be researched in any one turn.
Help me out what does that mean? I was under the impression you could only research one thing at a time anyway. I play Dread Lords.
Death Bonds: Too big to fail. Too easy to hide improperly-rated securities (which is the idea no matter what they say), and as the insurance industry is already stating, this is about "subprime life" insurance settlements . A nice little play on words there from the insurance guys. It is inevitable that Americans will be hurt again by Wall Street, who does not create products that require materials and craftsmen, but rather operates like a casino.
Interesting...by earlier versions do you mean Galciv1?
I'm playing only my second complete game. My first was cakewalk/Evil and was pretty easy. This is my second: 1. Tiny Galaxy 2. Galaxy setting "occasional" or "normal". 3. Playing as Yor 4. 9 opponents with normal intelligence. What would be a typical time to complete and score?
The problem Arrodo is that you have defined winning as having foreign military bases. To many this is an aggressive act and therefore negates any possibility of ending terrorism. Not only that but terrorists will never have enough power to erase the bases so this is a formula for endless war unless you go nuke. But even that is no guarantee because nuking civs would spawn a whole new category of terrorists. Overnight the USA would go down the shitter.
Random thoughts: Terror is a tactic in an eternal war between the Abraham faiths. The only thing that brings the USA to it's knees is fear-mongering. I think your conditions for victory would only be realized after a very long cultural war, which I think the USA would win. I think only civil war would break the states apart. But the chances of that are extremely slim. And even if by some chance Texas, for example, tried to secede the Feds would squee
Thanks for the tip.
Often I get threats from other civs to remove starbases, etc. How do I do the same? Sorry if noob question.
Thanks
True true true. If Stardock would answer my questions about the game I wouldn't be in this stupid thread.
Well prudence suggest you judge a program by it's popularity. It's also fashionable for some folks to bash the USPS, even though the USPS is widely very popular and backed by the constitution. ID do you really lay in bed at night worrying about budget deficits?
The guys who showed up ay healthcare rallies in NM with M-16's are self-professed terrorists. They claim the American Revolutionaries were terrorists and want to model themselves after them. This of course was a declaration of war. And the poor schmuck who got his finger bitten off yesterday? He threw the first punch. He should be glad he only lost one finger. Kent State, JKF, MLK, Unibomber, Oklahoma...we know where this is headed. The anti-government politicians have their
I was under the impression that playing Metverse meant playing premade scenarios/conditions. I'm guessing I was wrong. Do people play scenarios? I did a search but only found a few.
