I need help starting the game in Demigod Stardock Forums

I just bought DemiGod and installed it on my HP laptop. I have an Intel(R) GMA 950 video card and I thought it would work. My driver is completly up to date and I have DirectX 9.0c. When I try to run the game it says Unable to create Direct3D please check that the video driver is up to date. I think it has to do with my video card but I'm not sure and I can't replace the card because it's part of the motherboard. Is there anyway I can tone down the game so I can play? I can't return the game
