Just trying to play FE again after so many hours of LH. 1.32 Game incredibly buggy: after having saved once, the game crashes consistently on End Turn with Autosave checked; it crashes consistently when I try to save manually with Autosave unchecked. Hence it is unplayable (except in one mammoth session without ever saving, which I can never have time to do). Hope the next patch fixes these crashes: still lots of gameplay elements I love about

Derek: Don't forget to fix the Veteran and Experienced traits, as you did for LH. They don't work after you have saved your game once. Still a great game; nice change of pace from LH.

Derek: thanks for your reply! The Veteran and Experienced traits work fine before you save and exit. But once you save and exit (even once), the traits never work again, ever, for the current game. There is nothing hit and miss about it. This bug is 100% reproducible. I will try to post screen shots and saved game further down this thread (first time trying this for me). Note that it is entirely possible to have one unit with a funct

If you buy LH from any source (including Stardock) you will receive a Steam key for it.
Does this go for the Beta too? I bought FE from Stardock; but when I sign in to my account, the only LH available is at 39 bucks. No discounted price, no Steam Key (whatever that is), as the next poster blithely asser

Gaunathor, thanks for your reply and for the clarifications. My cities must have been -- just -- too close to the one tile I needed to settle. Hard to tell now since the Spire goes away once you clear it; but I believe it was 5 or 6 tiles from my nearest city. On a Small map, just too close I guess. Still, Imperium yielded some good items, lots of experience for my Sovereign, and the Curse spell you alluded to earlier (name escapes me too). Cheers.
Dunno whether it is a bug or I am missing something. But after killing all guardians including the Death Demon and seizing all lairs and the dark spire I still can't settle or build an outpost in the Imperium wildland.
Funny, I had exactly the same issue in a game yesterday. Cleared out all the wildland monsters (Obsidian Golems, Death Demons), took the dark spire -- but still could not settle or build outposts in the Imperium ruins. Got the little quest

An odd bug in 1.2 and 1.32 -- the Veteran Trait doesn't work after the first time you save and exit the game. When you return to your saved game, the trait does not give trained units an extra level. I have identical units with this trait side by side on the map; one from before my first save & exit (he's got his level) and one from after without his level. Hope this gets fixed in the 1.4 patch.

Perhaps it is covered somewhere in the 251 replies to the FAQ. In any case, what you say is good news.

LH looks exciting. But quite a different game in some ways. Once we've purchased, downloaded, and installed it, will we still be able to play vanilla FE? Or will LH overwrite and replace FE? I remember being pleased that once I'd installed the Gods and Kings expansion for Civ V, the game gave me the option of playing with or without it. I can still play vanilla Civ V if I wish (and sometimes I do). Will LH give us the option of playing straigh
I've been back and forth on this. It's a tough one. These are the options (without getting into anything to fancy): 1. Pioneers return to their original costs. This incents players to quickly produce and spread pioneers for a Pioneer Explorer strategy, which can be fun but I feel like it is an unbalanced decisions and players don't have the play in the single city model for long. 2. Increase the labor costs of pioneers. This just slows things down, i tihnk this pr

For me this is paramount, since 1.2 is unplayable for me right now. Everything else is lovely, but not essential.

Game stability trumps all other concerns. 1. Fix 1.2 Crashes on End Turn (after 60 turns on the "Clash" map from the Pack, these crashes are constant: game unplayable). 2. Fix 1.2 Crashes on Save Game (same deal; after 60 turns or so the game crashes when you try to save; save unsuccessful and game hence unplayable). Additional features mean nothing when the game simply won't play at all. Crashes

After about 60 turns or so, my favourite game becomes unplayable. Has anyone else noticed this? If I run 1.2 with Autosave off, I can sometimes get around the End Turn crash. But then I can't save my game because it locks and crashes as soon as I hit Save Game. Everything in 1.3 should take a back seat to Making the Game Stable and fixing these End Turn, Save Game crashes.

My vote is to develop the richness of Fallen Enchantress: Corsairs and Carracks and Delves and Mercenary Companies on the make! This game gives you God's plenty within a tight & elegant structure: hallmark of canonical design. It's achieved the philosopher's stone of "wild variety in a logical framework" -- the profusion almost of life, but abstracted, highly organized. You are right, Mistwraithe: this is a vexed design problem with a pedigree of heartache: in a 4X game we want expansion (which is fun) as a possible strategy, given certain map configurations and player taste, AND we want Minas Tirith (the single magnificently developed urbis mirabilis -- which is fun!) as an equally attractive countervailing strategy. It's a really hard balance to achieve; and I'm sure Mr Paxton has thought a great deal about this and will
