I had the same issue till I realized it was the Tomato firmware on my linksys that was causing the problem. Told the firmware to not use MLPPP and works great now.
I have a Netgear MR814v2 with factory firmware.

As far as I can tell, the router has no firewall option. Even if it did, putting the laptop into the DMZ produces no effect, which it should if a router-level firewall was the issue. There is no "gaming mode" or "relaxed NAT" option available on my router, unfortunately. However, again, DMZ produces no effect, which it should if this is the problem. I am fairly certain my ISP (AT&T) is not filtering P2P traffic. For one thing, bittorrent works fine.

I have forwarded the proper ports, made exceptions in the windows firewall (even disabled it), shutdown antivirus, checked my ports (yes, they are open!), gone into the DMZ, and nothing. Can't join any game, can't host a game for my buddy. This is total bullshit. First the serial number fiasco, and now an utterly unplayable multiplayer game. [e digicons]>:([/e]

Well, I thought I would post that I got a reply from Stardock. They are requesting pictures of: -the game box -the game disc -the inside of the game disc case -the back of the game manual -a receipt for the game Wish I had thought to bring all that with me to work...along with my camera. Oh, well, another day goes by, I suppose.
If this is happening to you can you indicate if you bought teh game at retail or on-line? And if on-line, ifyou used paypal or direct credit? If at retail, where?
I bought a boxed copy at Best Buy. I understand that the majority of people are not having this issue, but this isn't the only forum where I saw it mentioned, and usually the people talking about a problem are only a fraction of thos
Support e-mail response time is usually 24-48 hours, especially with the release being yesterday. We will get to all the tickets. Please bear with us.
I'm sure you will, although having to wait up to two days for something as basic as getting your serial number recognized so you can update and play this pretty much multiplayer only game online with your friends who were able to register is pretty ridiculous. Do you

I've also fallen prey to the "invalid" serial number. For each of us that bothers to post here about this, how many others are there who don't? This release seems pretty botched to me. I bought the game to support GPG, but if they partner with Stardock again, I think I'll steer clear.
