I'm already playing other games. That is to say, I've never been the kind of person to dedicate myself to that "one game" that I play ad nauseam until I burn out on it and/or become the best in the world. Demigod is a really fun game, but it's certainly not enough to satisfy all of someone's gaming needs alone. I've never found any game that is, really. I'm still having a blast playing, when the game works. I wish I could play more, actually.

And what exactly were you doing for nearly a minute and a half while Rook was apparently wandering around in front of your base, gradually amassing eight towers? Not only do Rook's tower farms take a lot of time to set up, but the things crumble on their own over time, meaning it requires constant effort to maintain. I don't see how people call this overpowered.

I don't see how Regulus' mines are a special case. Like someone else mentioned, they do around the same damage (combined) as a max level direct damage ability from other characters. If you were playing as TB, that last 1350 Fireball on a fleeing DG would certainly kill them much the same as three mines would. Mines can also be seen with a 50 gold item, swarmed or warped over, shielded and walked over, or simply detonated by cheap minions or creeps. The snare effect is powerful, sure,

Same issue, been around forever, no response from Stardock at all. There's topic after topic on these boards about it. People seem to think it's on the user side for some reason. I play Demigod on a gaming PC with bare minimum background processes, almost all services disabled, no AV, no firewall, no router, nothing running. I have a 10mb/s cable connection with an average of 1.5-2mb/s upload speed. The problem is not me. It's either somewhere on the ISP's end or Demigod. Cons
I'd also like to give a shout-out to the cheapest item in the game, the Totem of Revelation. The +5 vision bonus is passive - you get it just for having one in your inventory, and it can easily open up a whole new set of strategies. Buy one unless you're playing without Fog.
The Totem of Revelation is so underutilized it's crazy. The things are so cheap and so useful. They last for a very long time and

Everyone I've played with in custom games also has it. Personally, if they can't fix the problem (and it's pretty clear they are really struggling with it), I prefer it to stay like this rather than defaulting to zero all the time. Favor items are a pretty big part of the game and at least like this, everyone gets to pic

Eh, I find hybrids to be among the most effective TBs. Problem is that the form dancing can be kinda tricky and most people don't play to the hybrid strengths. A straight up Ice + Fireball build is murder, but I've seen more evenly split Fire/Ice builds be really effective. And Circle of Fire is far from useless. For some reason, people have it in their heads that they should use it offensively, like "Hey there Unclean Beast, I'm gonna run up to you and make a fire circle... oh, I'm d

Whatever problem you have is shared by me and a smaller group of people around, right down to the only at 6+ players bit. I can save you some trouble and tell you that I did everything within my power to solve the problem, including disabling and uninstalling, clean installs, direct modem-PC connection with everything disabled, etc., and nothing effected it at all. So basically it's either your/our ISPs or some obscure problem with Demigods netcode.

Why the heck would an item that costs more than all of the upgrades from Priests to Giants not change the tide of a battle? If someone on the other team amassed 18,000 gold, you either already lost the game or you should have enough to counter them with an artifact of your own.

What a weird thing to complain about. If Regulus is using his range to attack your towers, chase him off. If he has "backup", congratulations, you're playing against people using teamwork to destroy your towers. Use your team to counter them. Every single demigod in the game has ways to destroy, freeze, bypass and null towers. Regulus plinking away at them is hardly an issue.

The only thing I could suggest here is to temporarely uninstall the antivirus completely, just to rule it out (even if deactivated, the antivirus might have done something "bad" to the network stack). Do you have any other software installed, that might have some influence on networking? Netlimiter or any Software from your cable ISP. Well the obvious answer is that yes, there are more than three custom games going on - the list only shows games which aren't full or started. However, there is also a problem with games not showing up properly in the lobby even when there are open slots. The display is kind of wonky in general. Also, if you downloaded the beta patch, you're only seeing games hosted by other people with the patch, which is a tiny minority of the Demigod community.

A nine minute video of a twentysomething complaining about his inability to properly connect to a videogame. I swear, the Entitlement Generation is going to run this planet into the ground.

Just going to have to hold your hats and pray they fix it quickly. The side that gets the immediate early advantage will win the game unless they make some disastrous mistakes. Many people are busy and simply don't have the time to wait 15-20 minutes for an in

Yep, I'm still having this problem, although it's progressed to the point that the spikes are near constant. I'm using a wired connection on Vista Home Premium 64. The problem still exists even if I connect directly to my modem with absolutely every form of firewall, anti-virus or background tasks disabled.

It's definitely me. From my end, my ping to everyone spikes up, but to everyone else, it's just my ping spiking. When I leave the game, the stuttering stops. I really don't understand it because I've gone to some pretty funny lengths trying to solve the problem, including running through DMZ, connecting my PC directly to my modem and essentially disabling any conceivable program or service that could interfere. My settings appear to have basically no effect on the game at all. One time, I eve
