The current method it uses to get your friends status does poll, there is a new version coming where this will be eliminated. Belxanthian
There is a log file if the program gets to start. This type of a problem where it can't find the proper version of dll's to run causes it to abort before the logging even gets to start. These are the hardest bugs to track down due to the total lack or information about the crash. I can only say that one of the files RTP needs to run is either missing or the wrong version.</
JannyBG I installed a clean XP system upgraded to SP3 and allowed windows update to install all security patches. RTP runs fine When RTP crashes do you get an error dialog or any other feedback from it? I really am interested in finding out why its not working for you. Belxanthian

.Net 3 includes 2.0 in it, so no you should not need it, I have tested RTP on SP3 before and it worked, but I will set up a test system and double check that its still ok with it. I'll let you know as soon as I get it tested. Belxanthian

It should be self-explanatory, but I look at this thing way too much ;) Exactly where do you mean? In the buddies list? The "2. Choose friends" group box? The list of friends under the choose friends? Please tell me a bit more and I'll look into it. Belxanthian
Thats the way it "should" be working, if you do not use the computer (No mouse or keyboard) for 5 minutes it puts you into Auto Away, then when you hit a key or bump the mouse it should return you to the state you were in before the auto away. Izuz please uninstall and reinstall RTP and let me know if that fixes it. I've seen a few problems when it tries to update itsself. Also please let me know what OS you are running and what service pack if possible and I'll see what I can do. Belxanthian
When R2P installes, it does get set to start on launch, in the previous release it would not change even if the option was unchecked on the configuration screen. That was fixed, so if you uncheck it now it should be removed from the list of startup programs. Let me know if that works or not. Belxanthian
